Great Sunday Roast. Really reasonably priced. My only negative would be how early they close on a Sunday, so I would say go before 14:00 so you have plenty of time.

A lovey setting but the food was sadly a bit average. Had to return the peas as dried up and the new ones were moist but still not great. Generally the food could have been better. Even the water tasted a bit strange.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, with friendly staff. Great place for dog walkers to stop off for a drink/snack whilst out for a walk.We sat outside on picnic benches as weather was nice. Would definitely recommend this place

1st time here for a quick lunch after a walk in the park. We both had the whitaker burger, which was delicious. Nice and friendly service.Will definitely be back again!

We visited on a lovely sunny Saturday lunchtime however it was 1/3 full; lacking in atmosphere and the table service was barely functional.The lighter breakfast appeared to have been sat under a heat lamp for some time as the poached egg was hard boiled and the mushroom looked like a mummified example.The cheese pie was nice but the handful of peas, undercooked chips and bland gravy was dire at best.Overall, you'd be better in a Wetherspoons as your expectations are set at a low level and it feels better value.We were very hungry otherwise we'd have sent all food back and gone to get a sandwich from the local shop instead. Avoid.

Called in for a drink while strolling around the park. No real beers, all keg. Quality white wine.To sit in the sun and out of the breeze in a courtyard was lovely. Why would you want to sit on a pavement breathing in exhaust fumes? Of course Whitakers is only open till 8pm on a Thursday... but it could give your lungs a break!
