Site currently officially closed due to COVID. However there is still one cross that can be viewed outside a short walk up from the church. A QR code also let’s you see what the the site is like inside when it is open. Would definitely be a much better visit when open.

We were lucky enough to visit just before lockdown. An interesting chapel off the beaten track with beautiful views all around. A quiet and serene spot. Seeing the collection of carved stones inside and outside the Chapel, dating back to the 8th century was the reason for our visit and we weren't disappointed. It really is worth the journey to get there.

Gorgeous little Chapel in a stunning setting approx 15 miles from Lochgilphead. Carved stones and chapel itself has some history and info plaques inside. I'm not a history or religious buff but still very interesting and again, simply a gorgeous part of the country.Single lane country road with passing places to get there from Lochgilphead but hardly and traffic and only met half a dozen people there.

Historic chapel with many of the original gravestones preserved inside, including the original version of the cross that stands just beside it. Short, steep hill up to it which gets very muddy in wet weather, there is another route up, if you follow the road until the top of the wee hill and then turn right and walk along this grassy quad bike track, but neither is suitable for wheelchairs. When driving to it, drive through the first gate by the white cottage and park in the area just before the second, there isn't anywhere to park beyond there.

The single lane road ends at a gate, go through this one to another. There is parking for 3-4 cars but a space for turning needs to be left. Pass through 2nd gate (the one across the road) and you will see a boardwalk across to a calf building slope up to the chapel, views are good, chapel is so-so. Warning, towards the end of the road there the passing places are quite far apart.

A lovely quiet place, with stunning views and a lovely rugged landscape. We came back 3 times (I fished off the far point too, with some decent pollack caught).

Beautifully restored ancient chapel with a collection of carved crosses and gravestones dating back to the 7th century. A glimpse into the Gaelic culture of Argyll.

The stone carved grave slabs are excellent, but the stone cross dating from the 8th century, which originally stood outside is, for me, the best piece. I was surprised it wasn’t more eroded!

A very beautiful, remote chapel overlooking the Sound of Jura. The inside is now small museum which houses some ancient religious stonework, and is very interesting if you're into your history. You have to open some gates on the drive which adds to the remoteness of the site. Keep walking past the chapel into Keillmore to a small jetty... if you're lucky you may spot Sea Otters playing in the bay.
