I ordered a complete upholstery set and a hood for a A H BN1. I could not be more pleased. The parts are of an excellent quality and maybe even more important they really fit without adaptations ( like most aftermarket parts need). The off white colour is just perfect for the black car ( originally like that). Questions are always quickly and well answered. This is the service one expects, but nice that it is confirmed. When restoring my Jaguar MK2 I also had to restore the interior, so I had to decide where to order the upholstery and trimmings for the interior panels. Of course most dedicated manufacturers are situated in England. I found a couple but actually there were only two that have a website which clearly shows the offerings. This is important as you want to study the possibilities and also it is part of the fun. I asked for quotes and samples and John Skinner was the most responsive one although not the cheapest. If you are going to pay over 3000 euros and worry whether you get all the details right, I think this is essential. I was not disappointed. Every question was answered promptly and extensively by Jonathan Skinner and it gave me great comfort that I could sort out everything this way. Also upon request Jonathan provided me with photo's of the production of the upholstery so I could document the project. The quality of the work is outstanding. It has been a great pleasure to work with this company.

I recently received my full interior kit for my 1966 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 Coupe from John Skinner and am extremely satisfied. Their craftsmanship is beyond reproach. Amazing attention to detail. Straight, even stitching. High quality vat dyed leather, perfectly matching vinyl, thick, tightly woven wool carpet, nicely edged, beautiful moquette. etc. John is a delight to work with. He cheerfully reproduced the interior exactly as Jaguar supplied it new. You won't find a more professional, accommodating upholsterer.

I restored the interior of my 1956 BN7 Austin Healey Tri Carb and Johns company was a delight to work with. We have used John Skinner now for various retrims as part of various restoration projects we have undertaken and have never been disappointed.All trim has been quality material, well stitched and fitting- something we can buy in confidence, knowing our customers will be impressed!

It is possible to buy carpet and panel sets off the shelf and they will probably do. However if you want the best then you go for 'made to order', by a specialist company. I followed the latter course and was delighted with the quality of the product and the 'after sales' service. I would recommend John Skinner to anyone fitting out the cockpit of their classic car.

I started the process of thinking to renovate my tr6 interior approximately 3 years ago.
