Hero Locksmith

Looking on Edinburgh Council's website I came across 'Trusted Trader' (Edinburgh.gov.uk/trustedtrader). This is a great initiative that seeks to increase our confidence around selecting tradesmen. All those listed are vetoed and undergo extensive checks. It was here I discovered Hero Locksmith. Clicking on their website I was pleasantly surprised: Up to date, with regular blogs about new standards, educational aspects and new initiatives.I called Hero Locksmith and spoke to Richard. I liked his friendliness and openness. Although Hero Locksmiths deals with emergencies night or day, they offer regular appointments. The next day I had a visit. Richard not only checked my balcony lock but also advised on my main front door being out of scope for home insurance (the lock is very old). He also noticed that our main external door (this is a house converted into 3 flats) had screws loose, was rattling and would at some point come off. He was right.Aside from his obvious skill as a certified locksmith, he is friendly, engaging and an all round nice person you feel comfortable welcoming into your home. Having moved back to Edinburgh after many years overseas, I wanted to build up a network of tradesmen. Hero Locksmith is top of the list.

Richard was absolutely fantastic. So much so I have written this review immediatelyHe was very prompt and got the job done in minimal time. The entire time of the job, taking time to allow my 3 year old to assist him she was absolutely chuffed, what a wonderful man and professional.

Richard was great! He came out to my flat within 30 mins, was very friendly, and gave a good rate. Highly recommend!

I contacted Richard at Hero Locksmith about a front door lock issue via the website form. He responded within 15 minutes with a diagnosis and turned up to fix our door a couple of hours later. Great service and well priced.

I locked myself out of my house on a freezing cold night and Richard came around almost immediately with his bag of tools and persisted until he found a way into my house without causing any damage - absolutely brilliant - and all done with a smile and calm/can do attitude that was hugely reassuring. He charged less than half the price of a national firm who, though claiming to work 24/7, couldn't help me before the following day. He certainly was heroic. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Saved our dinner from almost certain crispy doom after both me and my partner managed to walk outside the flat without holding the latch door open. Arrived quickly and was extremely friendly and reassuring, couldn't have asked for better service!

Absolute star! So easy to speak to, Richard broke down the options, likely scenarios, and costs. After speaking Richard was able to come that evening and was able to fix our back door lock. So friendly as well! I can see why he has sooo many 5 star reviews. I would recommend and absolutely do business again.

I called Hero locksmith after locking myself out the house and my dog inside! Richard was at my door in 20 minutes. He did what he said he would and for the price he quoted. No damage to my door or lock. You wouldn’t know he’d been. He also cut me 2 sets of keys at a very reasonable price. Totally recommend Hero locksmith. Great job. Thanks for saving the day!!

The fifth locksmith I tried on a Saturday afternoon. Arrived and had opened the problem lock within 45 minutes. Brilliant.
