Rodborough Common Public Car Park (Free)

Gravel car park. Lovely walks and views.

I love Rodborough common. It's pretty big (a couple of hundred acres) and joins Minchinhampton common so you can turn it into a really long walk. The car parks can get quite full but there are a few of them so you can nearly always find a space. You can also park on Minchinhampton common and along the road at the Old Lodge (at Minchinhampton common). The car parks on Rodborough common flood quite easily so you will often find yourself in a large puddle. However if you're walking after its been raining you're going to get wet and muddy and that won't be a surprise to most people. The council add extra gravel to the car park surfaces quite often but it never lasts very long and doesn't seem to help with the drainage.

A lovely place to go for a walk with a view. Plenty to walk either side of the common and the cows are friendly too

Impossible to turn your nose up at a free car park, especially one in such a beautiful location for walking.

Always nice to come back to Stroud and walk on the common.

There are several rough / dirt car park with no marked bays. Parking is free. Rodbourgh Common does not have any set paths so i would say it is not suitable for wheel chairs. We struggled slightly with a toddler in a pushchair.It is a great area for dogs to be off lead, except when the cattle are out roaming.Fantastic views.
