Prince Street Bridge
This historic bridge is an essential crossing. It gets a serious amount of use but still keeps swinging with surprising speed. For the Bristolians that live on Spike Island it is one of the few routes remaining across the water.

The Princes Street Bridge is a bridge that allows both cars and bikes and pedestrians to pass. It's technically meant to be a one way path but I do often see people walking in both directions which can clog up the pathway. There's a coffeeshop nearby which looks like a nice place to sit and have a coffee while admiring the Bristol harbour.

Interestingly, it has semaphores, and signals which are usually seen at level crossings.

Was there at 7.30am watching all the people rushing to go to work also watching people rowing up and down the harbour. Watch out for those electric scooters and a steady flow of bicycle you need your wit's about you.

I can't believe I'm reviewing a bridge but I have to commute across this atrocious monsterousity daily and hate it every time. Not enough room for pedestrians and cyclists on single lane traffic, not to mention having to wait 10 minutes every time a boat needs to get through whilst the bridge rotates and having incredibly slippery stone pavement leading up to it.I'm all for preserving Bristol's nautical heritage but not at the expense of practicality. Much better when they had the scaffolding bridge whilst it was being 'improved'.

View from the bridge, it gets quite busy round here, watch where you’re walking and for the electric scooters!

Great river views and fun watching it swing open and shut. It has recently developed a penetrating squeak when the bridge swings. It doesn't usually hold you up for long and it is a good tourist attraction.
