Read the awful reviews and don’t book! Worst Garage ever. Booked an MOT and had to call 3 times a day for an update for 2 weeks and was promised call backs from ‘Allan’ and I never got 1 call. Eventually decided to take it to another garage but even getting the car back was a nightmare. When I went to pick it up Allan sat there eating his pie and made me wait 30 minutes till he was ready for me to pay the bill. Shocking service all round. I was in 2 minds to use my spare key and drive it off.

I moved from abroad 9 months ago and had to have my car MOT. This would be my first experience with a garage in the UK. Looking around I found the Heriothill garage and I also chose to have a temporary service done. I really appreciated the service due to Allan's speed, professionalism and availability. I will return to take care of my car in this garage!

Avoid this placeOur company used this garage to fix the van we use for working. They knew that we needed the van asap and they accepted the job with 4 days timeline.Well, the van was kidnapped for 41 days.A real nightmare going to ask every 3 days without solutions. Impossible to drive like this to another garage. Thousands of pounds lost and customers dissapointed just because they had the van. Not 4 days. 41!!They have cheated us on everything.If you like to be ripped off, this is definitely your garage.

Excellent garage and one of the most honest you'll come across. Had them do my service and MOT last 2 years running and wouldn't use anyone else in Edinburgh. Alan and Douglas are very professional and keep you up-to-date on everything. Can't recommend them enough, if you're needing car work done in Edinburgh Heriothill Garage is the place to go, also do a very handy pick up service. Specialists in VW and other German motors, always busy which tells you how good they are, they also done paint work this time which was perfect.

I would say they after quizing them, they took a long time to fix the problems I had already identified for them. Their bill was probably 25-30% more than what it should be (+£350). Feel somewhat ripped off. Straight forward sorting wheel speed sensor (they didn't test cruise control and were inexperienced in this area of fix). Changed front bush and arms (ok). Said they would put a new brake feed pipe (but didn't and instead did a 2 part join using orginal pipe which I said I didn't want at the beginning). Unwilling to sort out rear coil springs (bizzare). Got car noise from something rattling which wasn't there before. They messed up coolant reservoir (failed to put back a nut that holds the reservoir in situ)..also level sensor fail (was not like this before). I would go somewhere else as secretly they will overcharge at every opportunity and work quality is sub-par. Talk the talk but they can't walk the walk. F -

Went to this garage today while passing through Edinburgh with my campervan as I needing a part fitted. Very very helpful and amazing price. Got the job done quickly really really nice staff. Thank you :)

Pick any other garage. These guys are scam artists.Took over a week to get my origional MOT done then took another 5 weeks to get my car back.Couldnt even write a recipt on time or have my car ready to pick up at the agreed time.The battery was even flat and had to be jumped!Terrible communication, always told I'd be phoned back - I never was despite leaving my number 7 or 8 times, had to call constantly.

Just had great service from Alan of Heriothill Garage who very obviously cares and hasn’t lost touch with humanity! Car is MOT’d and I now know where to come with my Mercedes. Thanks very much - appreciated.

Avoid at all cost, if you don't want to waste time & money. Left our old VW T2 van there, because they're supposed to be specialists. Allan said he would be starting working on it within a month. Ended up keeping it in front of his garage for more than 6 months, rusting in the Edinburgh winter. When he finally took it in and stripped it, said it was a massive job and his estimation changed from 6.5k to 10k. Well, fair enough, we knew it wasn't in great state (although keeping it outside for 6 extra months hasn't helped). Problem is after that he didn't do any work on it for 6 more months, always finding excuses. When we finally became more insistent (by sending messages asking when he would start), he simply decided not to do it anymore. Had to go and get our van back, stripped, with a door half-attached, which hadn't been on the road for a year! That's without mentioning the 5k advance we paid, from which Allan just sent 4.6k back, taking £400 for a 2h stripping job. In conclusion, at best Allan is a smooth-talker, at worse he's a scam. Go somewhere else !

Can't recommend this garage enough. Alan and the team fixed my car in no time and also organised an MOT. Super useful for someone who requires a car for work commute on daily bases. Professional, trustworthy and honest work.
