A BIG shout out to Anna in the cleaning team :)We work down at Steamer Quay Road and you know when Anna has cleaned the toilet blocks. Amazing effort 100% and a huge thanks. Always spotless when she has been on shift.

Not sure why I must pay thousands of pounds when there is zero service or benefit. Garbage remains piled up for several weeks at our apartment building. I live in Totnes but have to pay exorbitant prices for parking. The streets themsekves aren't kept clean. Pointless council.

There doesn’t appear to be any other way to express publicly how useless south hams waste and recycling has become. Constant missed collections, total cancellation of green waste for months and probably never to return! Reporting non-collections doesn’t make any difference and they don’t have the courtesy to even respond or offer an excuse for not turning up to collect . It’s a pity I can’t give a minus score for south hams waste & recycling as it definitely doesn’t deserve a plus score.Those responsible for this so called ‘service’ should be holding their heads in shame. All we hear in the local press is excuse after excuse from councillors, who clearly are not holding their council officers to account. If a private sector business operated like south hams council waste services, it wouldn’t have any customers left to rip off. So why does south hams think it’s okay to treat its customers so appallingly.You need to start to get your act together SOUTH HAMS DISTRICT COUNCIL WASTE SERVICE!

Having received a number of council tax bills with varying anounts of inexplicable information and debits I e mailed the council requesting an explanation I have not received a reply. I have attempted to phone them with same query only to be told you are 19th in the queue, you are 14th in the queue. I thought after the 2012 fiasco of attempting to incorporate with West Devon was abandoned after spending excessive amounts of tax payers money things could not get worse. I was wrong. We now have the recycling fiasco over which no-one has resigned and a telephone service which is prepared to keep residents waiting for hours. Why people vote for this shambles is beyond me yet they do when they have the opportunity.

Shocked the girl did not know east allington was in the s hams and was very rude with someone who was distressed! I wanted help as eviction letter has arrived a months notice!

*** I DO NOT SUPPOSE THE REVIEWS ARE READ!***Everything that is put out for recycling ends up going to be incinerator to burn to create e ENERGY. THERE ARE NATURAL RESOURCES FOR THAT PURPOSE,; the wind, the sun and the sea in coastal areas as Devon is. When someone goes to a newsagents and picks up a newspaper, likewise in a card shop, and turn it to the back, where it is printed This has been printed on a 100% recycled paper/ card. Then why not recycle it. South hams council empty SO-CALLED RECYCLING IN BEAUTIFULLY COLOURED TRUCKS TO COLLECT THE SO-CALLED RECYCLING. SO MAKE SURE IT GETS RECYCLE IT TO WHAT IT WAS ORIGINALL!Y!! ONE WORLD.

Appalling bin service collection . As soon as a new recycling scheme was introduced the service went downhill . We do our bit about time the council did the same. Not emptying peoples bins is unacceptable !

SHDC have just introduced a new recycling scheme - they should be congratulated for such POOR SERVICE. Our recycling was collected 4 days late, the staff made sure everyone in our street was woken on a Sunday morning, they broke our new recycling container and spread paper, cardboard, tins etc. across our street in Kingsbridge. Well done SHDC - South Hams Does-it-again Council"...."

I’d give a zero if possible. Two years ago the Council allocated our money for five extra recycling containers which they expect us to store. Not only does this create a messy bin strewn town two years on only a co-mingled recycling service is provided to thousands. This is a waste of our money on the redundant containers. What’s even funnier (sarcasm) is the council expect us to spend time each week to sort the recycling out into these containers only to have it co-mingled in one lorry as this will apparently help the transition to the new service when ever that may be! Do we need two to three years practice!! Do the council think we have nothing better to do than futile rubbish sorting. Maybe they could in the interim take back the five containers and use for spares and issue one bag (preferably recyclable). Honestly if they were in business they wouldn’t survive with this level of competence.

They need to attract some fresh thinkers into the Council, as they seem very out of their collective depths with many areas of service we all pay for and don't get. In the latest council meeting one of the councillors described themselves as 'Rabbits in Headlights' spot on ...
