Delicious food. Everything is just perfection! Texture, flavours, meal size, price and the variety in each meal are just amazing! We ordered beef rendang and nasi lemak with chicken and these 2 meals were a great combination. Can't wait to go again to try their other dishes!!Thank you.

The food is very good with authentic taste. Very pleasant owner and cook. This is a small setup restaurant understandably. They will grow quickly I'm sure.

Amazing halal malasiyan food served here! Very good service although the wait times can be a bit long depending on how busy they are. Seating is also very limited but wasn't a problem as they packed the food up very well.

One of the best Indonesian restaurants in Birmingham. The foods were very authentic, the portions were very generous, and the prices were very reasonable. The owner was very friendly, she always made sure to greet every customer.

Truly the definition of a hidden gem. Whilst Birmingham has other Malaysian options, they’re mostly found either city centre-way or in leafier suburbs. Cita Rasa has comparable if not better food than these other places, but at decidedly cheaper prices. The small space gives it an intimate, communal feel and Dawood and his wife made me feel entirely welcome after dropping in completely at random. Whilst it doesn’t matter for my own diet, I can appreciate also that Cita Rasa differs to other Indonesian and Malaysian cafes and restaurants in Brum in that the majority are ethnic Chinese-Malaysian, and therefore don’t always cater for a halal diet despite both countries having a significant Muslim population. The Nasi Rames (mixed rice) was hearty but not too much, and the beef rendang with it likewise carried spice enough without overwhelming the dish. I have a sweet tooth, and the cendol and dadar gulung (pandan pancake) made a far superior substitute to the likes of a boba and bubble waffle or any other similar south-east or East Asian dessert offering you’d in Birmingham Chinatown at once again a considerably higher mark-up. This restaurant is amazing one of the best Indonesian restaurants in Birmingham easily. Reminded me of my time in Netherlands. The service, food, aesthetics 10/10

Stayed in Birmingham one week and tried many of the food places. Many didn’t live up to expectations, but this was the best meals out of all of them. Great flavours and great service too. A hidden gem.

Small Family owned restaurant. The Food at this restaurant is amazingly tasty. Price is very reasonable and food is made to order.The satay chicken is especially delicious.Just a few things to bear in mind. They only have a small amount of seats and everything is made to order so takes a little longer than normal to come out the kitchen.Highly recommended and we will visit again.
