The Cider Mill Monnington on Wye Herefordshire
We had a wonderful time staying at the Garden Cottage in Monnington. The cottage was so peaceful, with lots of space around, walks right from the door and surrounded by fields. The cottage had everything (and more!) that we needed, beautifully comfortable beds, outside space for the odd sundowner and plenty of room for everyone (big teenagers!). We had some lovely walks in the Wye Valley as well as in the Brecon Beacons as the cottage is in such a good location, near to Hay on Wye. Anna was wonderful responding to our questions and there was a lovely welcome pack on arrival, thoughtfully put together from the local farm ship (I presume, where the ice creams are to die for). I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough, it is one of the loveliest self catering places we have stayed in.

Had a fantastic weeks holiday in the Cider Mill.The Cider Mill has everything you need for a relaxing break- 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms.Beds and bed linen are sooo.... comfortable.Lovely fluffy towels.Great family kitchen/ dining space and lounge.Very pretty garden with dining area and space to relax.Outhouse for housing bikes and washing machine/ dryer.Football pitch area was enjoyed by our son.The area around the Cider Mill has amazing walks, cycling and scenery from the door step.The local farm shop sells great local produce and is only a few minutes drive away.Enjoyed pub meals at the local pubs- the Yew Tree Inn and the Portway Inn which you can walk to in 15 mins.The Black mountain walk provides stunning views.Enjoyed ice cream at the lovely town of Hay on Wye and great coffee and millionaires shortbread at Eves cafe.Great golf course at Kington where the sheep are grazing throughout the golf course.In summary the Cider Mill provides a lovely relaxing break in fantastic accommodation.

The Cider Mill Monnington on Wye Herefordshire
None of our party ever find themselves returning to the same place twice – preferring to roam and travel extensively to all corners of the globe. However, this year, not only did we return to the Cider Mill in Monnington on Wye, we extended our stay! The Cider Mill cottage’s beautiful fully-enclosed lush lawn and bountiful garden, complete with the rose-laden cider press provided an oasis for life in our covid-chaotic world. The arrival of each morning sun’s rays seemingly injected life into the summer-stunned garden as we all relaxed in Anna’s beautifully sophisticated and stylish three-bedroomed cottage. There is so much to explore in the surrounding environs of Herefordshire – and we embraced each new and exciting experience be-it visiting the National Trust properties of Croft Castle and Berrington Hall or exploring the many idle stretches of beautiful countryside. The Cider Mill did not disappoint a second year – in fact, we are already planning a third visit next year!

The Cider Mill Monnington on Wye Herefordshire
We had a wonderful week at the Cider Mill in early September and from the moment we drove through the gate we all felt completely at home. The Cider Mill is spotlessly clean and appointed to a very high standard, the beds and pillows being the most comfortable i’ve ever experienced in a holiday let. Overall it is very light, spacious, warm and cosy.The Cider Mill is set in a lovely garden and we made the most of this by using the outside seating and dining area. The location is great too, very quiet and peaceful and with many walks from the door. There are plenty of places to visit locally for days out and the farm shop just up the road is excellent.When searching for a holiday cottage a question i ask myself is would i like to spend prolonged time in the home due to say bad weather etc and i can say that the Cider Mill fully meets that criteria, It is an absolute pleasure to simply spend time there.

The Cider Mill Monnington on Wye Herefordshire
The Cider Mill was a delight to stay in tucked away down a no through road with a beautiful sheltered garden and lovely sun terrace. The accommodation gave us the flexibility to have 3 double beds and each with their own bathroom. The beds were a delight, large and very comfortable. We spent a lot of time sitting outside but inside the large kitchen, diner and lounge was a great space too. As 6 adults we always felt we had lots of space. The surrounding area is beautiful with a variety of places to visit and activities. We rather fell in love with the baby goats at the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre.The very local Oakchurch Farm Shop was full of delights and kept us stocked up with all we needed.A great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

The Cider Mill Monnington on Wye Herefordshire
We stayed here with our children and their partners and our dog. We had a fantastic time and will be going back soon we hope. Plenty of parking and facilities.The house is very well stocked and was beautifully cleaned on our arrival. The gardens are well kept, the gardener clearly is doing a great job too. Communication with the owner is very good and loads of info is available for local and days out.
