Shell-Tur Turtle & Reptile Rescue

After having a (what we thought) yellow-bellied slider for a number of years and fumbled around in the dark numerous times to figure out how to look after Ted, we thought it would be best to find a sanctuary that could care for Ted in the way she deserved. We came across Shell-Tur and had the pleasure of meeting Ryan and Charlie. They are unbelievably knowledgeable when it comes to what they do and have shown amazing compassion for Ted. We loved being able to look around and see how all the other turtles/animals are looked after and they really made us feel welcome.All we can say is a massive thank you for being so selfless and taking Ted on. I am sure she will have the happiest life with you and hopefully she can give you many happy times. She seemed to enjoy the cuddles and kisses within minutes of being in your care. Thank you for everything.

The work that Ryan & Charlie do is amazing! The amount of love & care they have for all the beautiful animals that come in to their lives is immeasurable & so lovely to see, and I know the little turtle we have rescued will be well looked after. They are amazing guys & should be so proud of everything they have built and achieved! I cannot wait for updates on our little rescue <3

Helped me and my family out in a difficult situation, took in our (presumed!) yellow belly, which we learned was a red ear instead. Charlie and Ryan were so kind, especially on short notice, and I hope to be able to support their rescue in the future ❤️

Wow! What can I say?! My Mum, her boyfriend and I, had the absolute pleasure of visiting today and we were really impressed at the level of care that both Ryan and Charlie give to all of the animals - it is quite clear to see that they go above and beyond for them!-. Although it was sad to say goodbye to our turtles, we knew that they would be very well looked after, have a better quality of life (and loved) at Shell-Tur turtle and reptile sanctuary. Cannot thank the guys enough! x

These guys are passionate about what they do. I needed to rehouse my turtle because I couldn’t look after him and left shell-tur feeling totally confident that he was in loving care of experienced, skilled and knowledgeable reptile experts with all the setup Malcolm needed to be happy and safe.

We took some turtles to Ryan and Charlie for rehoming and were amazed by the levels of enthusiasm, decency and passionate love of animals that we found.Plus the work they do for mental health - Shell-Tur is a great endeavour that helps both animals and people.

We unfortunately had to re-home our musk Turtle and after research found Ryan and Charles. The loveliest people we have ever met, so accommodating and fantastic with our daughter letting her meet all the animals. So passionate and knowledgable about what they do. I couldn't recommend them enough and would love to help and support them in the future. Thank you so much.

Absolutely brilliant experience meeting Ryan and Charlie. I unfortunately had to contact them about rehoming my two musk turtles. Even with such short notice they were completely understanding and accommodating. It was a pleasure meeting them and the work they are doing to help people and reptiles is incredible. The enthusiasm they show is not something you see anywhere else. Great job
