I had the pleasure of attending Ellie's confidence speaking course over the Summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. It has been life changing and taught me many useful skills, that can not only be applied in public speaking but also in other arenas.Ellie's course is very well designed, the structure is excellent and the workbook to accompany the course is very useful.I found Ellie to be an excellent coach, she is engaging and very knowledgeable. She kept us on our toes the whole time, pushing us outside our comfort zones but at the same time being very supportive. Ellie is a very good english teacher, warm, serious and devoted to the Success of her students. Every course is carefully prepared and takes place in a good mood. Her work method is rather playful which makes learning fun. Moreover she ´s bilingual in French which is an asset for french learners because she understands our mistakes and can translate if needed. It’s really a teacher I recommend, especially that her patience and encouragement are very motivating!Ellie est une très bonne prof d’anglais, chaleureuse, sérieuse et très dévouée à la réussite de ses élèves. Chaque cours est soigneusement préparé et l’heure de travail se déroule dans la bonne humeur avec une méthode de travail plutôt ludique ce qui rend l’apprentisage de la langue amusant. De plus elle est bilingue français ce qui est un atout pour les apprenants français car elle comprend nos erreurs et peut aider à traduire dans certains cas. I have been studying English since I was little, and I have to say the way Ellie gave me the classes was the best by far. If you are looking for personalized classes and adapted to achieve the level you desire, this is your academy without doubts. I discovered The English Room while searching for a language school for me and my wife, after moving to Bishop's Stortford in 2018. I had a great impression from the very start, especially since I met Ellie.Her passion for teaching emanates like an aura and is 'contagious'. After the initial discussion about my wife's and my language support needs, I was pretty certain I had found the place where we would have studied.Then, when Ellie proposed me to join a trial lesson of her new initiative, the 'Confident speakers' course, I was eager to jump in.I attended the full course during 2018-19, one lesson a month, and I am so glad I did it. Ellie and Kevin (a professional speaker and coach Ellie organized the course with) delivered an extremely useful and interesting set of lessons, to help people like me in overcoming their fear of speaking in public, and become more effective in their communication.The course has been fun, interesting and at times even enlightening. An experience I would like to recommend to anyone, in particular to those who may think they will never be able to prepare a speech, possibly because - like me - are not native English speakers.But even if you think that it would be unlikely that you would ever deliver a public speech, I still recommend the course for it offers massive value in improving your self-awareness and communication skills.Thank you Ellie and Kevin! The english room really helps me to reach my goals and to improve my English. I'm attending IELTS classes with Zoe and she coaches us for the exam and gives us some tricks to make our English better.And I thank Ellie for gathering that great team and for showing us we can learn English in a great atmosphere !
