An outside wall of our lounge was suffering from rising damp. Peter Cox's surveyors came and viewed the problem. Their advice was that poor quality (absorbent) plaster had been applied to the wall in a way that bridged the damp-proof membrane.. The advice, which I took, was to strip off the plaster to a height of one metre and re-plaster using Peter Cox 'drywall' methods including the application of a waterproof treatment between the floor slab and the wall below the DP course. All this is described on Pater Cox excellent website.The plasterers said they would arrive at 8.30 a.m., in fact they were sat in there van on the drive at 7.30 a.m -'we don't like to be late'! The work went ahead spectacularly rapidly, the skirting board was ripped off in 10 minutes and the plaster in ~30 minutes. Two coats of sand-based waterproof plaster were applied followed by one skim of fine plaster. The surface quality is remarkable.The workmen , Justin Skinner and his brother, were charming, highly skilled and efficient and cleared up perfectly before they left with the job done at about 4-30 p.m.The Surveyor, Joe Bellamy, who specified and supervised the work could not have been more helpful and the team was ably supported from the office by Jack Cullinane - Contracts Manager and Susan Elliott - Contracts Assistant.It would be hard to envisage a more effective and low stress solution to a very worrying problem with our 65 year old house.Thank you Peter Fox.Dr Paul R Williams

Their surveyor was extremely friendly and professional - very honest in his appraisal, and clearly concerned with keeping our costs down rather than pushing expensive and unnecessary works, as other companies sometimes do. Appointments were made and rearranged without any fuss, contractor who came to do some work in our basement was also very friendly and professional. Highly recommended.
