There's something about this place which is just magical and which you can't capture elsewhere. Really reasonably priced and lovely staff. If you want to feel what living in a sustainable community could be like - this is it.

I first came to CAT about twenty years ago. I loved it then so I was made nervous by some reviews saying how run down it had become. In fact, it's even better; the tech has been updated and there are excellent, interactive displays on satellite monitoring of the planet, on biomass heating, on recycling and drought proofing gardens. Children should enjoy exploring the very well done 'mole hole'. We had a great time on the quarry walk with our two dogs and the setting is beautiful. Lovely staff too. Go there and learn something while having fun - it's great.

I love CAT. Wonderful staff and informative bird walk. Stunning ecological work on all levels and it’s interesting to see the more interactive exhibits as I last visited about 25 years ago. Thank you all for your wonderful work.

The Centre's in a disused slate quarry and is reached by a water-powered vernacular railway. Incredibly useful and informative site but the different routes visitors can take could be more clearly marked. It's easy to wander and get them mixed up. The café/shop was nice and, although the spinach dhal and rice I had for lunch was lovely, it was a mean portion for £7.25 and the little naan bread was a burnt biscuit! Service at checkout needs to be sorted better. Our meals were almost cold by the time we sat down to eat. That said, it was a very enjoyable day and I recommend going to anyone with the slightest interest in sustainability.

A very informative place to visit, the history of the area, the walks and how new technologies are paving the way to help fight climatic changes within the environment.Activities for young and old to enjoy, learn and experience.Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.Cafe on site, could be deemed expensive but everything made is fresh, it's wholesome and quality. The smell is delightful as you walk around too. All food is vegetarian or vegan.

Had an amazing time with my group from Civic Square in Birmingham from 21 to 22nd October 2023. Surpassed all my expectations : location, facilities, staff, accommodation, food and the whole experience. Cannot wait to do again. Good thing there is a train station nearby. The funicular rail is a gem. I have been recommending it to all my friends and family

Was an OK day out, lots of outdoor space for the kids but it was a bit underwhelming. The reviews hyped it up, but it's just an OK day out. It all felt very dated. The food was really bad.If you had a choice of this place of Arthur's Labyrinth which is another great local attraction, I would suggest the Labyrinth instead.

I cannot understate how incredibly impressed I was during my visit to the CAT centre. Everything was a dream. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming, the accommodation is beautiful and relaxing, the food is flavourful and filling and I was able to learn so much. The work they do is very innovative and definitely worth checking out. I would highly recommend visiting.

We enjoyed a delicious vegetable curry in the restaurant, all made with veg grown on site. Walking around the veg plots afterwards put it all into context - visiting while the gardens are in bloom is wonderful! The displays about green energy are enlightening and not at all preachy, we felt very comfortable going there to learn without having a wind farm of our own at home!

A fantastic day out for the family. Lots to see and quite a few interactive areas. CAT does a very good job of explaining how we can live sustainably and how various technologies work. Very educational and done in way that is entertaining for all age groups. We also had lunch at their canteen and the food was very good. They only have vegetarian options but the pies we tried were very tasty. The site is actually larger that we originally thought but is very well laid out with toilets dotted around, really handy if you have kids.
