Bodachs Islay Taxi Service

I cannot recommend Bodachs highly enough. Prompt service, local knowledge, wonderful conversation. Make them your first call for taxi services on Islay.

Extremely personable and helpful. Was happy to drive around Port Ellen and pointed out the best spots for a pint and for dinner and the sort of crowd that goes there, as well as where to go along the way on my walk to Lagavulin. A wonderful way to start my visit!

Arthur has been a godsend on planning our anniversary weekend on Islay. I was referred to him back in February while I was planning, as the original taxi company I reached out to was already booked for Sept! He provided tons of helpful information and thoughts while planning, and even helped us secure lunch reservations at the distilleries when needed!During our stay it was lovely to talk with him and hear his stories about life on the island, his family, the distilleries (he worked in the whisky industry for many years so had great insights) and on the future of Islay. He is also honest in his charges and doesn't overcharge. We owe him and his lovely wife a nice bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir :-)I highly recommend Bodachs if you want to get around Islay!!

Arthur was top notch! Our family had some travel disruptions and he was able to provide transportation for us from the airport to our accommodations. We enjoyed his company so much that we booked him every day for our stay on Islay. His vehicle held our family of 6 very comfortably with room to spare! He offered some Islay history on our journey and communicated well with our youngest family member, all the way up to our oldest. We would not have had such an enjoyable trip, had it not been for Arthur. We will remember him fondly as part of our family vacation on Islay! Safe, prompt, courteous and a wonderful sense of humor. Don't hesitate to book his services. But book in advance! He is in high demand. We got lucky. :-)

Arthur was a lifesaver! When I was on Islay with a friend at the beginning of June, we got ourselves turned around at Bowmore. Arthur saw us looking lost, and got us back to the airport in plenty of time to make our flights! Phenomenal service, and I'll be counting on him again when I come back to Islay!

Arthur was a great addition to our Islay trip. He took care of us above and beyond. There are not enough good adjectives to be said about Arthur.

Arthur was the saviour of my last day on Islay. With my transport arrangements having fallen through, Arthur was able to fit me into his schedule and take me around the island.Arthur went out of his way to show me more than just the distilleries I wanted to see and it was great to learn some more about the history of Islay.He is great company and a true gentleman.I can’t recommend Bodachs Taxi highly enough.

Our day on Islay with Arthur was the highlight of our 2 weeks in the UK. Arthur was knowledgable, helpful, and kind with our planning and our day on the island. Perhaps the best thing I can say about Arthur though, is that immediately upon our arrival and for the entire day, Arthur made is feel like old friend. We felt as if we were in the company of someone we had known for some time, and who was genuinely happy to see us. If you are spending any time in the area, hiring Arthur would be the best decision you could make.

Arthur has been the best part of our stay on Islay! We called him after landing at the airport and realizing taxis are a bit hard to come by and he came within 4 minutes and got us to our hotel. After getting to our hotel and having more trouble finding rides, I got back in touch with him and he was our tour guide for the rest of our stay. He was always on time and went out of his way to show us more cool spots we would have never known about. He shared a great stories and history throughout our rides with him. He was so patient and kind. 10/10!
