This is a fabulous, authentic little shop with very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have, or can make and ship just about any tartan you like. They have very good literature resources for the history of families that they can show you to help track down what you're looking for. They have woven as well as woolen scarves and clan crests. I felt that they were very well priced for what they offer (£22-32 for the scarves)

While we were walking down the Royal Mile, this little shop down the alley caught my attention and I'm so glad it did! This shop is the real deal, not the generic stuff you find in all the other shops. Although I wasn't looking for a kilt, they helped me do research on my family name, find the right tartan, and gave me tons of useful information. These folks know their history, are extremely kind, and great craftsman. Highly recommend you pop in for a visit.

I need more stars to convey what a wonderful authentic Scottish shop this is. Our experience was magical! We were greeted with true Edinburgh hospitality as we chose the perfect tartan, measured and remeasured, and learned so much about the art of kilt making. 3 months later, we excitedly ripped into the package marked Edinburgh Scotland and the final product was a work of art!! Start to finish, a priceless adventure into a stunning culture that stole our hearts!

What a truly glorious shop, complete with true craftsman and knowledgeable staff. After chatting, being measured and choosing a tartan for the kilt (which is all hand stitched) the purchase was made. Just look at the pleats in the picture. The wait for the shipment to arrive in Canada was made easier by the excellent communication from the shop owner. The package arrived, and was well worth the wait.Thanx againJim

Lovely shop with lovely people working there. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I found a sgian dubh to order and have it shipped to my home in the USA and the pricing was quite reasonable. Definitely visit if you're interested in Celtic crafts and if you're looking for any ancestry/clan-based items.

I had a fantastic experience in Edinburgh, the one thing i wanted was a maids kilt. Celtic crafts (tucked away) were just brilliant, they put up with my indecisiveness when it came to what tartan to pick, they were funny and relaxed and even though they were busy were attentive and helpful. I chose my tartan and commissioned a maids kilt. It arrived 12 weeks almost to the day just as they said. Honestly, I'm blown away. It is utterly beautiful. Thank you so much

Walked in to Celtic Craft Centre out of curiosity and left amazed with a custom kilt and accompanying items ordered - I can’t wait to see it all together! The staff was friendly, welcoming, and spent an hour talking to me about my family history, clan, and tartan. The craftsmanship, the quality, taking measurements, and more - what an experience! Highly recommend a visit to CCC.
