Really enjoyable 3hrs with the lovely Marina. My daughter and I learned beginner crochet. Marina was friendly and a great teacher. We had a laugh and came away having mastered the basics. Lovely environment, relaxed and comfortable. Marina taught us methodically and with patience! A really fun morning.

I had never so much as successfully sewed on a button before I took the machine sewing for absolute beginners class. But after, I had made a cute cushion that my co-workers loved, a cute make-up bag that stops me losing all my things, and a gorgeous draw-string gift bag (that I gifted to myself :P ). I'm so amazed at how far I managed to come in such a short time!

I have taken a few classes so far in the stitch mornings to learn how to sew and have been really happy with them! Kat is very helpful, knowledgeable, and a very patient teacher. The other people in the class are also very nice and it is a lovely way to spend a morning (or evening). I will definitely be signing up for more classes and would (and have) recommended Sew in Brighton to friends!

This sewing school is brilliant. I feel so lucky to have found it. The teachers are fantastically attentive and share their time with students so fairly and generously. You're never left waiting when stuck on a project...the teachers are really aware of all the students in the room so you never feel left behind. The teachers are also so respectful and kind and just a joy to be with. You can either take your own machine or use one of the Janome machines at the school. Up to you if you take your own fabric and accessories or if you want to use the school equipment. The studio has everything - great sewing machines to use, fabric, pins, patterns and anything else you can think of. In terms of Covid, I felt really safe, respected and looked after. Can't fault this place. 5 stars all the way!

Two excellent one to one sessions with Laura at Sew in Brighton! I contacted Kat to arrange some personal tuition classes to show and help me with making a speedy cushion and finishing off quilts that I make and also some applique on the machine. The people at Sew In Brighton were brilliant at getting back to me quickly with a really flexible range of times that suited me, tuition was great, friendly and a really lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I will be highly recommending to friends and family, and will definitely take on some more one to one and classes.Superb! Thanks Kat and Laura. :)

I love Sew in Brighton.I've regularly attended sewing classes and made many of my own clothes as well as learning lots of new skills. I've also recently attended a class and made my own macrame pot hanger.Classes are always supportive and friendly. The included tea selection is great .The teachers are fab. I would highly recommend Sew in Brighton to beginners and advanced sewers alike.

My daughter said it was her grandest dream to learn to sew, so I signed us up for the weekly stitch classes. She was new to sewing, and I had some previous experience with totes, quilts, and costumes. Our instructors met us at our wants and needs to help us create the projects of our dreams! My daughter especially loved that the instructors cheerfully said yes!" to anything she wanted. You want to learn to sew a zip? YES! You want to design and make a dragon cape? YES! You want to sew with jersey knit? YES! As for myself

This morning I went to my first Stitch Morning and had a great time. There were 5 or 6 of us in all, which meant that Kat could come around and give us 1-on-1 help with what we were doing. It was interesting to see all the different projects people were working on, and the atmosphere overall was great: light and airy with music quietly playing in the background.I was a bit nervous because I have absolutely zero experience, but Kat soon got me up and running and in a single session I learnt how to set up a sewing machine and had finished half of my first project (a tote bag). I met some really nice people, and the general feel was very warm and welcoming. It felt very calming and soothing to finally be actually making something with your hands, and Kat did a great job of explaining each and every step very clearly.I had such a good time that I've already booked my next session for this weekend, so I can finish the bag and get started on my next project. I really recommend these sewing classes for anyone who is a total beginner and wants some guidance in a friendly, relaxing environment.
