TRINITY Church, St John sub Castro

St John Sub Castro church has recently been refitted as a venue for music requiring large acoustics, mostly classical music, although a small congregation still worships here. It has the best controlled acoustic in Lewes, and is particularly pleasing for chamber music.

This is a wonderful lunch club for mums, babies & toddlers for the very reasonable entry fee of £1.50, which includes a hot drink. For the same bargain price, home cooked light lunches are available for the adults & there are plenty of child friendly tables & high chairs for the little ones to enjoy their picnics.The newly refurbished church is a large, bright, versatile space set out with seating for mums to chat & a wide age range of excellent toys & activities to suit the older toddlers through to small babies. The session ends with a relaxed, lively singing circle for everyone to enjoy. Throughout, the several helpers are mingling to chat & make everyone feel welcome.All this, & a stylish coffee shop on the other side of the glass screen.Highly recommended.

Previously attended a concert here, but this time it worked as a cafe. Excellent place. Extremely friendly, helpful and very clean. Also amazing value. There weren't that many many people there when a friend and I turned up, however it seemed to have a play space for kids but was also comfortable for anyone else.

What a nice spot to have a cup of tea . A small cafe inside served very reasonable quality food and drink.A must for a small community. A baby and toddler group in the hall, whilst we were there. Happy kids having a great time by the look of it.

Every fortnight on a Thursday there's a gaming evening at the Trinity Centre, where you can play all sorts of tabletop games, card, board, miniature wargaming, D&D and video games. Very friendly and welcoming, especially those new to games and wanting to learn.

I really, really love this place. Its so homely and the staff are so lovely and welcoming. Its so intertwined into the local community, you get mums and dads with their kids, dog walkers, elderly people chatting to the staff and amongst themselves. Its like time slows down in this little church converted cafe. And the renovations are very sleek and contemporary.Would definitely recommend coming here on a lunch break. Such a nice setting.

Playroom for little children with plenty of toys. Music play group on Thursday very entertaining for the kids as well. Coffee shop with delicious snacks

It's a nice church. I'm not commenting on the churchyness of it really though. I just go to the Thursday games night occasionally. The place has a lovely friendly feel to it. It's very casual and welcoming. People are nice and the ambience / decor itself is just really homely.

A quick visit whilst they were preparing for a Christingle service.Lovely old building, stained glass windows and a warm welcome.
