We recently commissioned John to make the coffin for my Nan’s funeral. We had seen John’s work on social media last year and knew the moment we saw them, that when the time came this would perfectly fit the brief left by her for her final farewell – simple and no fuss. We drove out to meet John and his partner and received a warmest of welcomes and were shown his current work and explained the process that goes into making these beautiful caskets and the options available. John’s work is faultless and his attention to detail shines through and at a very sad time we are positive Nanny would be thrilled by the result and very happy with her final resting place. I highly recommend John and his craftsmanship.

My grandad always joked about having a Viking funeral on a stack of pallets on his small holding. Taking this sentiment and finding John with a quick Google I genuinely couldnt be happier with the final resting place hand made for my grandad out of reclaimed wood. It was amazing for everyone to see grandad at rest in a coffin that was without a shadow of a doubt in everyway perfect. We had our mother's funeral recently using one of John's coffins,We thought that the coffin was beautiful and exactly what mum would have wanted.We were particularly taken with the lovely carved name plate.We could not have made a better choice.

As a family the coffin exceeded our expectations, beautiful sawn and smoothed wood with variable warm colours. Rose gold tacks, mounted rope handles gave an ecological and tasteful finish.John was helpful, contactable and delivered on our agreed time slot.I wanted to support an ethical small business, creating some good out of sad times. So many compliments received.Some may feel they are stepping out of their comfort zone by ordering from a small independent supplier… you won’t regret.
