BBQ Dept @ Between the Bridges

I can only imagine this was the best food at All Points East festival

I’ve eaten at a lot of BBQ spots around London and the US so feel qualified to review this fairly.Pros:Service was goodFood arrived fast (~5 mins)Prices are decent for such a central locationThe quality of my pulled pork sandwich was great and it was a good sandwich overallCons:Someone else mentioned this in the reviews but the portions of meat are very small. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was a thin layer of pork over coleslaw and pickles. Pulled pork should be piled high with lots of BBQ sauce and a creamy coleslaw.I had a side of coleslaw and I can say, without a doubt, it was the worst coleslaw I’ve ever had. I had two mouthfuls of it and binned the rest. It just doesn’t add anything to the meal and is not restaurant standard. Please please please find another coleslaw recipe to use and potential customers, please don’t order it, it’s a waste of money.Conclusion:I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit this establishment but if you happen to find yourself in between the bridges and wanted some tasty pulled pork then I would pay this place a visit for a main and get sides from one of the other vendors.

Tried BBQ Dept at the BST Hyde Park yesterday. I ordered the pulled pork in a bun, and the meat was almost non existent in the bun. It was just crispy onions, slaw, a couple of pickle slices and sauce.I returned it and complained and they were kind enough to give me another one. However the second one had just a bit of meat on one side of the bun. The other half had nothing at all.Suggestion to owners: Next time make sure that you serve proper portions and possibly sold out at the end, rather than having 20-40gr of meat in a bun just to make the biggest profit possible.In essence, you charged £10 for a bun, slaw, crispy onions, half a pickle, sauce and a few grams of meat.The second photo shows half of the second bun and the ingredients inside it.

Got the beef brisket. Whilst it tasted nice I think for a small portion of brisket in a bun with some slaw and crispy onions being priced at £12 is outrageous. You can get the same thing at a steakhouse restaurant with alot better portion size. For 12 pound I'd expect a burger inside with the brisket considering the amount of brisket that was given.
