Rievaulx Abbey
A beautiful place to visit, even on a rainy and foggy day. Greg gave us a lovely overview of the abbey’s history seen as it was quiet, which we really appreciated. Very informative. Highly recommend visiting at opening time in the morning (10am in October) as there were only a few other visitors at that time. The little museum was an excellent visit too!

Lovely hidden gem in Yorkshire, building in National Heritage. Lovely surrounding, nice staff and well cared for building. Worth visit. Great trip to history.

Rievaulx Abbey
Really lovely place to visit if you are going through the area (there's nothing around it). Little museum there was interesting, and a walk round the ruins on a nice sunny day was do peaceful, all you could hear were sheep. We had a pram, and some areas were hard to access so ended up carrying baby round. Cafe looked nice, with a view of the ruins, but didn't stop here ourselves.

Rievaulx Abbey
Rievaulx Abby is definitely one of the best English heritages sites we have visited so far, the site is massive. We spent hours there looking around its located next to the river and a beautiful forest. The site has a very well laid out museum,cafe with outside sitting looking over the site. It’s packed full of historical relics highly recommend doing the audio tour we will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely visit especially if you are a member of the English Heritage as it’s not so much as a hit on the pocket. We spent a couple of hours there exploring and learning about its history. Tranquil, quiet and relaxing.

Great place to visit especially if you are a member of English Heritage. Good car park and nice, if expensive cafe offering snacks and drinks. The abbey is very impressive and make you wonder how they were able to built such impressive building so long ago. It is also really peaceful and a great place to bring along a picnic to enjoy in the Abbey grounds

Stunning place..something calming here..great for dogs provided theyre kept on leads..nice little shop, toilets and cafe..picnic area and seating around..ideal for a day of exploring with a fantastic museum..one of our favourite places to explore and a real hidden gem. We go first thing to avoid the crowds but always has friendly staff xx

Really great and interesting place to visit. There's the ruins of the Abbey and then a museum building with lots of information and artifacts. Quite out of the way and very narrow country roads to get there, but good car park.

Wonderfully majestic place. The ruins are very well kept and setting is beautiful. There’s a little museum with lots of information along the way. There are activities for children to keep them occupied while walking around, eg: There are 8 little Monks to be found around the ruins and stone mason markings. The cafe has a lovely view and the usual butties and cakes selection. There are picnic benches outside if you prefer. The car park is adequate.Another fantastic English Heritage site.

This place is amazing! I'd heard positive messages about it before my visit, but I underestimated just how good it would be.There's still a significant amount of the building still standing, and the boards provide an insight into what it was like to live in the monastery.I'd thoroughly recommend this place to anyone.
