Had cause to instruct a solicitor for a probate application and dealt with Melanie Pickering. She was knowledgeable, helpful and very easy to deal with. We had an initial meeting at no cost to me to discuss the circumstances. She gave me very helpful information to check a few things before deciding whether to proceed which ensured I did not instruct with cost without certainty about the estate. This was a very professional approach with the interests of me and my family put first. Once we were clearer about a few things we decided to proceed and all went smoothly. The only delays were with the Probate Office as everything in Melanie's hands was done efficiently. Costs were set out clearly upfront before agreeing and were reasonable. We had a far from easy sale with buyers pulling out on the day of exchange, followed (thankfully) by a swift resale to cash buyers, both situations were dealt with professionally at speed. Our purchase was also tricky and needed complex research and negotiation around historic deeds and registers, all of which Jess and her assistant Natalie dealt with extremely well and, more to the point, advised us so we understood the process and the decisions we needed to make. We started our house moving process (sale and purchase of a new build) 15 months ago. Jess and Natalie have been absolutely fantastic, super patient and supportive with us. Our house moving process included our buyer pulling out and us changing from purchasing a new build from a big developer to another built by a small local builder. Despite the later one being more complex, Jess and Natalie completed all what was required promptly and showed great experience in advising next steps.
