Kenwood Ladies' Bathing Pond

On my last visit I was extremely disappointed. After covid you need to book in advance, you need to pay for your visit, the “allowed” space became waaay smaller. And your stay there is timed. Once it was a safe space for women, now it feels like prison.

The ponds are exclusive to women making this and the swimming experience quite unique as you swim in Nature in the fresh, natural and cold water. You can watch overhead wildlife including parakeets, wonderful dragonflies and of course the ever changing open sky. Always clean and tidy with excellent, minimal facilities and very private so no photos are to be taken plus incredible and excellent value at £4.20. Come on Ladies, go for a safe, refreshing and restorative swim...or float!

Have group of ladies dunno what to do summer weekend! Here is an Really amazing getaway in London! Trust me it was a fun me and my gals went you get all your privacy showers & toilet on the spot! You need to pay at the entrance we were students so we paid £2.70 per person. The lady was so sweet! Also girls don’t get any valuable stuff as they don’t have any lockers there just a bag which has your sun cream towel a set of clothes and toiletries bag. Also under 16 have swimming test. I would say if you are not a “PERFECT SWIMMER” do not enter the pond as it has really deep sea bed! There are life guards but don’t take risk. Have fun ladies xoxo

Tried to sit in the waiting area to breastfeed my 3 month old while my friend went to swim and was told to leave. Very disappointed to be excluded from a women only space because I had to breastfeed!

It’s a great place to be out for walking through the greenery.

I went today at around 12pm and it was reasonably busy. The pond itself was lovely and the facilities well kept. The staff were unfortunately letting the experience down for me. Upon arrival (my first time going), I was feeling a little nervous and the ticket lady certainly didn't make me feel welcome. She didn't even say hello back, and gestured for me to move out the way whilst she served two other people for no reason. I didn't have a pre-booked ticket or membership band but it took 2 seconds to put the payment through. The life guards were rather militant and stood very close as I went into the water, given my current body confidence a tiny bit more space and privacy would have been nice. All in all, lovely pond, just don't expect a warming arrival! Maybe it's because I am not a member. After this experience I don't plan to be.

This has been on my bucket list for some time. I was a little disappointed I couldn’t take a photo to capture the gorgeous setting.The young lifeguards were rather militant… one poor lady was asked not to swim front crawl whilst I was there & another to remove her t-shirt before entering. She was clearly very body conscious & had a swimsuit on underneath. I couldn’t understand these ‘rules’. The no photography I kind of get, although there was no such rule in the men’s or mixed pools.However it is a very unique, special place & as a keen wild swimmer I was delighted to have made the visit.

The best place to relax on a hot day in london. Take a swim in the crisp pond and enjoy a tanning session in the meadow. My friends and I are always impressed by the beauty of the Heath and the refreshing feeling of the water. It’s no phones allowed which makes for an incredible atmosphere. Bring a book and enjoy a hot afternoon.

Small pond. For a quick refresher always nice but you can only stay for one hour. The pond is a pond so don’t expect clear water but there are showers. You don’t reach the floor or algae with your feet but you can’t see your feet as the water is kinda green.

I love this place so much. It gets super busy during the summer, so make sure to book! It is a haven with the gorgeous secluded pond and green meadows with visiting ducks and a very cute fox. I am so grateful this space exists
