Cambridge Rowing Experience

Thanks for the incredible rowing experience I had with your team on Sunday, 12th November 2023. The entire day was nothing short of amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I was also a stroke - which was extra cool!The team's enthusiasm and professionalism were evident from the moment I registered for the Rowing Taster Day. Special thanks to Omar for organizing such a fantastic event and ensuring everything ran smoothly.The rowing itself was an exhilarating experience, and the picturesque surroundings of Cambridge made it even more memorable. The cox was patient, knowledgeable, and made the entire process enjoyable for everyoneThe variety of sessions available ensures that individuals of all levels can continue to engage and improve their skills.I am particularly excited about the prospect of participating in the group erg sessions and the indoor rowing tank. The entire session was well organised and we got a taste for various aspects of rowing. Omar was very knowledgeable and a patient instructor. I can't wait for more lessons.

What a fantastic experience! The instructor Omar was very experienced and very patient. He explained clearly and comprehensively rowing techniques to our beginners. He showed us how to carry the boat, glide the boat to the river, and row on the river. He and his colleague also identified specific techniques for different individuals to improve. I have learned and improved a lot from the 3-hour lesson. This experience gave me a great confidence. More importantly, Omar has made the row such fun and we all had a great time.

Absolutely amazing! My friend gifted me this first ever rowing experience. It was truly incredible. Omar took great care of us all beginners, explained all we needed to know indoors on the ergs and in front of the boat; and we were able to go out on the river to row and have fun even with 0 experience prior to that day! The feeling of the boat gliding on the river is unmatched — even for a complete beginner. And many thanks for your patience, kindness, and sense of humour Omar!

Rowing on the Cam with Omar was a blast. Our boat got on the water for more than an hour in our first rowing taster lesson, after helpful land instruction. Omar, acting as our cox, guided us through a series of drills and rowing pieces, offering individual feedback in real time. Once our 8 started to get a feel for working together, gliding down the narrow bends of the Cam was a revelatory experience.

An amazing team experience and a fun way to discover Cambridge!My friends were visiting and wanted to try rowing. The session started with learning the techniques on the rowing machines, we then practiced with the oars on stationary boats and finally rowed on the Cam in an 8 for ~1h. We had an absolute blast!Omar is an excellent coach. He explained the techniques in details and gave us confidence on the river. Being a rower myself, I believe it is a brilliant introduction to rowing. I highly recommend Cambridge Rowing experience.Thank you very much Omar!

Mid-July 2023, beautiful sunny morning in Cambridge — 40 years after rowing the May Bumps in Trinity colours in 1983, I'm back in England and here I am sitting in a quad with my beloved wife and two teenage daughters on the River Cam !!After a much needed review of the rowing technique indoors on the ergo machines, here we are, the four of us on the water with our excellent guide and cox Omar. We push off and from the very first strokes, I remember it... there it is... that fabulous feeling of MOVING AS ONE !Like a fantastic eight-legged animal, we start gliding on the water with strong, measured and noiseless strides, and I marvel at how we can do this ! With no prior experience to speak of, my teammates and I CAN DO THIS !! Omar is calling the shots, my youngest daughter executes as stroke" in the front

Rowing on the River Cam with my daughter and the rest of the team was an amazing experience, and Omar was such a wonderful coach. We had a great time and can't wait to go again in the near future! Would highly recommend Omar and Cambridge Rowing Experience to anyone : )

My family and I were in the UK for summer vacation, capping the trip off with a 2-night stay in Cambridge. My teenage daughter and I both row in the States and thought it would be amazing to row on the Cam while in town. A quick web search led us to Cambridge Rowing Experience. We contacted them to inquire about rowing together in the short time window we had in Cambridge, not having any real expectation of something working out on such short notice. To our delight, the club's director responded the same day (a Sunday no less) and arranged for us to be able to take out a double the next morning!We met Omar at the boathouse the next day, where he gave us a quick tour of the grounds and some of the back story of the club, and soon we were off in a double heading down the Cam. He arranged for a bank party to track us by bike from the shore while we rowed, to keep an eye on us and be sure we didn't collide with any other boats on the water (which we appreciated!). He also loaned my wife a bike so she could ride along to take photos / videos of our row, which I felt was above and beyond. Overall it was a great and memorable experience that my daughter and I will cherish, and I can't speak highly enough about how easy Omar and his team were to work with. Highly recommend, and I'll be sure to repeat the experience next time I'm back in town.
