I visited the Museum of Army Chaplaincy at Amport House in Amport, Hampshire and I really enjoyed it.It is a small museum but well worth a visit. It highlights the role of faith in the Army as well as the bravery of the Chaplains, some of whom have been awarded the Victoria Cross medal for their bravery.I was particularly interested in the role of the Jewish Chaplains in the Army. And also the role of Roman Catholic Chaplains within the Army.It has a computer interactive display with a touch screen which is worth looking at.If you want to visit the Museum of Army Chaplaincy and are travelling from a long way away and need to stay somewhere nearby I would recommend staying at the Travelodge in Andover which is situated right next to the British Army Headquarters in Andover. You can walk from the Travelodge in Andover to the Museum of Army Chaplaincy at Amport and it is a lovely walk.If you drive it is a 5 minute drive. Please remember that if you want to visit the Museum of Army Chaplaincy:1. You need to book a visit in advance.Contact details are on the website.2. You need photographic ID as well to enter the Museum like a driving licence or a passport.I would recommend a visit to the Museum of Army Chaplaincy in Amport.

Inspiring and very thought provoking experience, the tranquil location, attractive modern building, warm welcome from the staff member on duty & the well organised displays combine to make this a great visit. Very highly recommended. The only caveats are the lack of loos, and it was quite difficult to find because there were traffic diversions due to roadworks

A wonderful, informative and moving exhibition. Very small, but packed with fascinating artefacts and information about this truly heroic part of the army. Well, we’ll worth a visit!

We did not see the museum as such but we were at Amport House helping to set up for a wedding reception there. It is an amazing setting.

A haven of peace and calm for all, the home of armed forces chaplaincy provides a rich and warm experience for all. Best to ring ahead and let them know you're coming - as it's part of the MoD there is security on the gate. Make the effort to come - you won't be disappointed.
