A very rough old pub but has friendly locals. They talk to you like they have known you for years. I don't think the place has ever been renovated, lights not working, old seats, old floors, toilet doesn't work etc.Responsible service of alcohol is also non existant, I saw the bartender serve someone who was totally mortal another can of cider, then grab a bottle of whisky or something frombehind the bar and tip it into the can as a top up.I turn a blind eye to that caper though, I like the older pubs who like to have a bit of fun, too many pubs out there are regulated heavily and you are not allowed to swear or make noise etc.

WHAT a refurb! The pub looks feels and smells beautiful just perfect! And unlike with most refurbs of this scale the wonderful friendly welcoming fun atmosphere is as incredible as ever if not better! If you're in Stockton calling in here is now a must unless you just like to miss out on the best in town! Jukebox still as brilliant as ever, unfortunately no sexy barman with long ginger hair, but he can often be found sat enjoying a beautiful crisp clean pint well priced pint!
