Avoid this place! Been a customer for years and my dad for many decades, and spent a lot there. They’re usually more expensive than anywhere else and charge for even the most minor of jobs (even when item/s have been purchased from them) - Put up with as location is close by. However, went in as a bolt on my crank came off, and was told that they don’t have bolts that size and they would get one in (charge £25-30, fitted). A few days later get a call saying that they couldn’t source the right size bolt and that the entire chain set would need changing (charge £135-150). I balked at that! So I took my bike to another bike shop in Withington. They also didn’t have right size bolt in, but found the right one for me to purchase myself online from wiggle (price £2.99). They also told me how to do the job myself, as it was simple, and it was! Suffice it to say YOU’VE LOST a customer and anyone I know who does business with you. OUTRAGEOUS!

I got a puncture and was too far out to go back home, so I thought I’d pop in to see if I could borrow a pump. I really wish I asked for both of the men’s names that helped me so I could mention them personally, because they couldn’t have been more friendly. Not only did they lend me a pump, but he changed the inner tube for me too in record speed, which would’ve taken me ages to do myself! I really can’t emphasise enough how grateful I am, and recommend this shop highly. Thank you! :)

I love bike shops & now my bike has its new gear shifters I can use it comfortably again. I’d struggled with the old twist grips for too long & the new under/over bar shifters are in place it’s a pleasure to use the bike again. Excellent work from Keith. It was done more quickly than I feared too so I was able to pick it up sooner than I expected. Thanks Sean & everyone for looking after me! ♥️

Brilliant independent bike shop. Super helpful staff and have plenty of stock from cheaper and cheerful to high end.Cherry on top of the cake is the electric peddle door. Never have to wrestle your bike in!

Did a great job on servicing my road bike before a triathlon, and some extra work changing pedals out for me without an appt. Wouldn't go anywhere else in Manchester.

I wouldn't recommend them honestly. I went in to get new tyres fitted and I got two different quotes for the price: one was more expensive than the other which was confusing at first.They didn't tell me about extra costs (service) which I understand but I think it's cheeky to not mention in the quote beforehand.They then changed my inner tubes which I didn't agree to either which added more to the price. If this information had been shared beforehand I would have done it myself but I ended up spending a lot more than agreed.I would also like to say that I very politely asked for a bit of oil on my chain and I got a yes response by one person but he sat down at his desk and seemed to forget about me so I ended up asking someone else (I was waiting a while).I will not be returning but I like the tires, I'm sure there are more sociable friendlier bike shops in Manchester.I would like to mention that I was never hostile/rude or impatient at any point.Overall I think most people seemed nice however I do think it is one of them bike shops that are more concerned about making money than how they treat their customers. Just disappointed, but not with the tires they have been great.

I've been a regular visitor over the years, and there's no other place that I'd recommend!Staff are friendly, and will even help you understand the issues with your bike, and even show you fixes if it's only a small issue.I'd send everyone here if I could!!

I’ve bought bikes from this business since 2002 (including my current Brompton). Their service has always been exceptional. This morning I had to call them with an emergency. My daughter’s wheelchair had a flat earlier in the week. We had ordered a new inner tube online. I managed to get the tyre off and put the new inner tube on but I couldn’t get the new tyre on at all. For over an hour and a half on Friday night I was struggling to get this tyre on. This was really grim because she had an event to be at in Stockport at 10am. I called them for help at 8.30am this morning. They told me to pop by at 9.15. By 9.20 the tyre was on and both rear tyres had been inflated. I cannot thank them enough!!! Superb service and a true community business. BTW my daughter got to the event on time and had a great day. Thank you so much!!!Edit - they have just done it again!!! Wobbly wheel on the wheelchair. They located the problem for me straight away. Superb, friendly, caring business - they are everything that you hope a local bike shop can be! Thank you!

Just popped into Ken Foster as I’d managed to misplace a component from my sons bike and not only did they have the part I needed, they gave it to me free of charge! Amazing service - can’t recommend highly enough! Thanks guys. Damien
