Excellent place to stop. Very warm and friendly feeling, extremely clean and beautiful. Catered for my dietary requirements better than I would have imagined. It’s not often you get this level of care and attention to detail. Would definitely recommend and stop again.

Cartmel Old Grammar Country House
We got married at Cartmel Old Grammar in March. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our special day. Eunice and Shelley were true professionals and really worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed and that the day ran smoothly. Eunice was very responsive in the lead up to the wedding which meant our minds were at ease and we had answers to all our questions. This is a family run venue which made it feel extra special. Thank you again Eunice and Shelley!

Cartmel Old Grammar Country House
Lovely small hotel with easy parking and a 5 minute walk into Cartmel. Staff were really friendly, and enjoyed the breakfast (cooked options, bread etc, yoghurt pots). The rooms all looked recently redone, in a cosy modern style.

Absolutely gorgeous. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. The whole place is immaculate. Rooms are huge with great bathrooms. Breakfast was just what was needed.

A wonderful place to stay. The building and garden are beautiful and the rooms are immaculate, with the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. What makes it really special though is the hospitality. You're made to feel welcome the moment you arrive and nothing is too much trouble. We went here for an anniversary weekend and definitely hope to go back.

We found venue easy to find with amazing views over the race course.Sadly from an entertaining perspective that is where amazing ended.This hotel has severe issues with its neighbours.No live singing after 23:00 (Inc karaoke with volume compression.)Music off at 23:59 precisely.Final song to be played at 23:55 irrespective of its duration.Guests not to sing out loud once their entertainment has ended, no matter how joyous they are.

We stayed here for one night as we had lunch reservations at L'enclume & this gorgeous hotel is 5 mins walking distance from the village. From the moment we arrived( early & unannounced) Shelly & her Dad made us feel so welcome, they cannot do enough for you & Shelly is a fantastic host, so freindly & goes out of her way to talk & engage with her customers. Beautiful decor, stunning setting, immaculate & a fab breakfast. Highly recommended to anyone wanting a chic, trendy & gorgeous place to stay. We cannot wait to go back.Thankyou x

Cartmel Old Grammar Country House
We stayed here for two nights and everything about it was just perfect. The location was brilliant, right by the race course and only a stroll from the amenities in the heart of Cartmel. The staff were amazing. Shelley looked after us from the second we arrived, could not do more for us and is just the loveliest and best host we think we've ever had. We can't recommend this place enough and will definitely come back. Laura and Paul.

Fantastic stay in a wonderful accommodation. Tastefully decorated and furnished throughout. Real quality attention to detail. Wonderfully helpful and friendly team...and a cooked breakfast to die for!
