Lovely place to take little ones (or big ones) to watch the trains. Cheap platform tickets if you only want to watch.

Nice station with steam and diesel trains.The large cafe was closed, but there was a small cafe on the platform.Outdoor G Gauge model railway. When we visited there were both a battery and live steam models running.

This is without doubt the best heritage railway near me. The volunteers and paid staff are all pleasant and very helpful. If you are interested in steam railways it's a must visit.

Great place for viewing and filming on the fantastic GCR. Brilliant 1940's weekend and despite lousy weather great time at Autumn Steam Gala.

Great Central Railway - (Rothley,Station)
Lovely Edwardian station with 2 cafes. There is a garden railway outside Ellis tearooms. Great to sit outside the tearooms if weather permits and watch the comings and goings of the train. Volunteers are extremely helpful and very enthusiastic.

Great Central Railway - (Rothley,Station)
Went for the 1940s weekend as part of an American reenactment group. It's one of the highlights of my season as Quorn is the spiritual home of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, of the 82nd Airborne Division. Stunning area, lovely friendly locals (I'm from South Wales, very helpful staff in the café. Brilliant day out for anyone interested in steam railways or the 1940s.
