Swinton Estate

We spent two night here. The rooms and grounds are superb, as are the staff who work tirelessly and empathetically. On our second night the Terrace restaurant encountered a major technical glitch when their entire system went down. Despite this, the waiting staff bent over backwards to make our experience as pleasant as possible and what we had was a beautifully executed plate of food. What ruined it somewhat were the tirades of complaint made by the git that is the entitled British public - people who are so narrow in their view that they forget the real tragedies of the world and choose to pick a fight about something that really is, in essence still a pleasant and valued experience - some might say a luxury indeed compared to the tragedies that some poor folk face in this world.We were impressed with how well the staff handled things even under really, really difficult circumstances.

Wow what a place… I was fortunate enough to have been invited to a wedding here and I stayed for two nights. The hotel is lovely and the service very good, all the staff are very attentive. Food was pretty good throughout, although service was a little slow in the Terrace restaurant on the Friday evening. It actually didn’t matter though as it’s such a lovely place to be. We were able to walk around the grounds and take in all the beautiful scenery, go and see the birds of pray, and the lovely walled garden. I will definitely be back here to enjoy the spa facilities. Oh and the wedding was out of this world!

Stunning scenery! Welcoming, gracious service! Environmentally conscious! Best decision on our family trip through the UK and Ireland! The Birds of Prey activity is an absolute must! The birds are incredible! Mandy the falconer was an amazing teacher with a wealth of knowledge! The estate and grounds/ gardens are beautiful! Lunch in the cafe was delicious!

We stayed 4 nights at Swinton Estate with our tour group. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing, and also the service. I loved all of the extra amenities that just made our stay all the nicer. Room was large, comfortable, beautiful and clean. I loved the look of all the rooms and they were so welcoming! The Estate grounds were so beautiful, and we had a Chef’s Table dinner with Luke, and it was just beyond wonderful. We will miss this place so much. Recommend HIGHLY!!

Had afternoon tea here.Nice place.Full afternoon tea is £35pp, you get 3 finger sandwiches, 2 scones and 4 miniature cakes with a hot drink of choice.Very expensive for what you get.A nice place to visit but not value for money.

The most amazing holiday. Everyone there absolutely lovely and so helpful. Our room was gorgeous, spotless and had the most magnificent views. Every meal we had from Breakfast to dinner was faultless. We visited the Terrace restaurant twice which was great both times. The spa is really luxurious with lovely facilities. We couldn’t think about going home after 2 nights so stopped an extra day… and very much hope to return in the future!

Fabulous place, spotless clean, fantastic food in the Terrace Restaurant, lovely staff (most, some need a little training) but nothing to complain about. Delightful Spa, lovely rooms, overall, great value for money, although drinks are very pricey!

Beautiful location set in 20,000 acres. Samuelrestaurant is a must try. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent

Visited for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All I can say is wow what an incredible place! Our hotel room was immaculate and very comfortable. Visited the spa which was just great with a pool and various lovely thermal spas saunas hot tubs outside freshwater plunge pool lots of luxury loungers and very helpful and friendly staff. We were fully relaxed for our dinner at The Terrace restaurant which is the more modern and informal of the two dining experiences at Swinton. The food was delicious and well presented with sharing platters and interesting small plate dishes plus burgers steaks. Really interesting menu - the crab crumpets were both beautifully presented and delicious! The restaurant staff were very friendly professional and attentive. In the morning we explored the beautiful grounds including a walled kitchen garden, woodland parkland river and a gorgeous spring garden in full flower. Just beautiful and so peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend.
