I had an appointment today to see Dr Qazi, she as always is so professional, empathetic and really listens to your concerns. This service has been consistent for so many years. The receptionists are very helpful and answer any queries you have. I just wish that the opening hours were like a standard 09.00 to 19.00 throughout, instead of being split up in the day.

Very unprofessional and lacks customer service the receptionist Sobia is very disrespectful and doesn't care about the patient's needs or inquiries, it is a waste of space and surgery it is mainly empty and sometimes only one person at the reception desk. It is the most difficult and discriminating place to access I am waiting over four months to sign up and all I get is disrespect and being turned away. I signed up online as told and was very polite I still not appropriately attended to or told why I was treated in that manner, I went again and spoke with them and the same thing until someone else intervened and ask what if they wanted to sign up and his answer was different Sobia stopped the colleague from continuing and he left us and spoke with her then I heard another excuse about the receptionist in control of that area wasn't in for a while. Funny enough I was signed up because I when to the walk-in at Newtown and I was in the system, only wasn't assigned a GP. They just didn't want me signing up with them.

My GP Dr S S Ahmed, office manager, practice nurse and front of house receptionist are truly a magnificent team. I’ve read some reviews that are not my experiences when I contact my GP via telephone for an appointment. Yes, you have to wait patiently in a queue that could take as long as 30-45 minutes to get through depending on what time you call. Just now I’ve ordered my repeat prescription via the POD service. 10.10am and lucky for me I was number 1. The lady was professional listened to my query and read back professionally without stutter each of my extensive list of medication. NHS has taken a battering lately since covid and GP’s have been under immense pressure and strain since. All I can say having been with the same GP since as long as I can remember over 50 years. Mr Riyaz Ahmed was my original GP and since his untimely passing his son has stepped in and continued the legacy and professionalism. A welcoming friendly face his father instilled in his practice that Lozells and wider Birmingham have surely had the comfort knowing when you want and see your GP you will get the best of the best of service. Unfortunately I have become unwell and have had to see the GP over Xmas and was booked in with another GP who now works alongside Dr S Ahmed who was not available. I’m normally stubborn and would demand to see DR Ahmed but i need not to worry as I was checked and sent for tests and hospital scans and arrangements for follow up tests etc. I now have several hospital appointments in place to hopefully get me well as can be over the next few months. We have to look at ourselves first and not blame the GP receptionist if you can’t get through or they seem rude. They are human like us and the last thing they want is their GP’s patients getting upset. I moved out of the area some 35 yrs ago but never changed my GP, Why?you can ask yourself. One: I was born and bred in Lozells, two: in a house (not an hospital) a stones throw from the current surgery. The area has changed and so as the people but I feel comfortable walking around Lozells as I do visiting my Medical Practice, Finch Rd, Lozells and Dr Sohaib Ahmed and his practice team get five star ratings from me for the care I’ve always got and have been having lately.Thank you team: Lozells Medical PracticeM Walker (a patient since late 60’s)24/02/23

DR AHMED IS amazing. But the rest of the team not even a one star. Awful service. Waited for 1 hour 30 mins. I was in tenth position. Secretary stated she will see if an appointment gets cancelled, in order to get me an appointment. The call lasted a minute. So why did I have to wait an hour and 30mins? I'm sure the other 9 calls before me must have lasted a couple a number of mins or less. The Secretaries waste alot of time and answer calls as and when they please. The Secretaries really abuse the system. The Secretaries also act as if they are doctors; they haven't got a clue about a patients sickness, however, still think they can diagnose the sickness in hand over the phone or at the desk. I feel Secretaries with a degree or a top qualification should work at the GP surgeries. Most of them could hardly string a formal sentence together. Appalling service.

I’d leave no stars if I could! This surgery is absolutely disgusting every single receptionist is vile and rude and the manager Hafiza is useless and has no solution for anything. Sobia And fahima are not fit for this job they cannot handle a simple conversation which usually ends in a very heated argument, they laugh at you when you ask for an appointment. I’ve been to this useless surgery many times and not a soul in site and multiple times I’ve heard the receptionist consulting the manager to dish out appointments and on multiple occasions I’ve seen the doctor strolling around the gp even though I’ve been informed that they are on holiday or their not well. The manager acts like she has no job and nothing better to do.Whoever made her the manager is silly who thought it was a good idea to make this useless human a manager, due to the lack of non existent appointments in this surgery I know someone who has passed away because they are not available.people could be dying but the receptionist could not give a damn gossiping and giggling with a cup of coffee in their hands and I don’t know what or who has covid in there but that seems to be the reason for everything DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH.From personal experience something so little became so major when it could have been avoided. Sobia on multiple occasions has challenged a patient and out of the blue start screaming at you.

Very rude and unprofessional receptionist. I went there and asked the receptionist to register my attendance for my appointment and show me the way to visit the doctor, the receptionist was so rude that she didn't bother to show me the way instead she said she don't know where should i go (very rudely) and told me to find out myself, didn't register my visit. What is the point of having the receptionist there. I was told to be waited by the receptionist for 15 mins without the doctor knowing i was outside, I lost my patience and started arguing with the receptionist. One gentleman helped me and showed the way. I told the doctor about the issue and the doctor said the receptionist knows very well and they could not understand why she said me that she don't know. I will raise an official complaint against the receptionist for misbehaving with the patients and not helping them even that was her duty. I really want the community to take actions against this receptionist.

Useless incompetent receptionists at the desks. They never answer the phone and keep cutting you off. Yet when you walk in, if they're not lounging and chatting about each other's life story, then they're on their own personal mobile texting or on a phone call.

Dr Ahmed is good but everything else regarding this surgery and staff is diabolical! Zero star is being generous. It takes hours to get through via phone and you just end up hanging up! Why cant they hire more call attendants if the surgery cant see people!

The staff need training on the importance of patient confidentiality. I can hear everyone’s problems from across the waiting room. How about a quiet triage area? Never any appointments available even if you’re dead and more chance of winning the lottery than your call getting answered. Doctors are great, if you’re lucky enough to ever see them.
