We gave stones a try as we had read that it was supposed to be the best fish and chips in London.I guess it must have been an off day for them.Chips were ok but the fish was so over cooked that when you tried to cut it the batter exploded into a pile crumbs and the fish itself was almost like a piece of leather.If that is the usual standard of cooking, then I don't know who these people that judge food are.I would like to think that the cook had a bad day.

Amazing! My husband and I are Americans who love food. While in London we couldn’t find a proper fish and chips. THIS “proper chips place”was recommended by our tour guide and she was spot on. The Haddock with large chips and homemade tartar sauce is delicious! Thank you Stones! We will be back before we head back to the states. Highly recommend!

1st vAmazing Fish & Chips I am a northerner and struggled to find a decent chippy that served good gravy (not curry sauce) in London. The gentleman who attended to me was polite, service was quick and the food was excellent. Definitely recommend. They have most definitely got me as a new regular.

We were staying at the holiday inn and dad needed a fish and chips. Luckily he found this place and it was the last night they were open as they close Sunday and Monday.It was absolutely delicious, we tried the fish cakes, fish and chips and the brownie. The customer service was on point and it must be a good local spot as a lot of people came in and out.Thank you for a very good first night in london

Excellent staff, very attentive and helpful. Good portion sizes, I got sausage and chips for £5 and the picture was taken after half the chips were eaten. Had a slight issue with the sausage being pink and undercooked but they assured me this was a one off and immediately replaced the product and it was deliciously crispy and hot! Thank you. I will be back :)Back again - just as delicious!

When I think of fish and chips, I think big fat portions of chips. Here you get the perfect amount of none greasy chip (which I thought was some at first) and prefect fish. The salt and pepper calamari was ok. Didn't look how it did in the picture, with the peppers and onions. I'm not sure if that was because it was a takeaway.

Decent chippy. Good value. Could do with a bigger menu and sauce options other than ketchup. Sausage supper for a fiver is good going in London. Would go back

Local chippy in a residential area (closest tube: North Acton, 10 minutes' walk). Food is fine, crunchy coating, good value.Downsides: no large fish available, plate is too small even for the regular meal, crockeries were a bit stained and limited napkins at the table.
