Camber Quay
The Camber has been a feature of Portsmouth for a very long time. We understand it was used for trade since the Saxons and reputedly the first place that Tobacco was landed in England. Whilst the fishing fleet looks equally established, they arexa relatively new addition as far as we can tell since World War 2. In the 1940s 1950s this was an almost dystopian location with smoke from the nearby power station and smal ships being unloaded with coal. Much has now changed and it is now a wonderful sight at early morning or a summer evening in the Pub nearby overlooking the water. There is a background smell of fish, but it is the home of the small but well turned out Portsmouth Fishing fleet.
