Telford County Court

I required my mothers decree absolute post her passing for Probate purposes. I now enter into my fourth week of being passed around different court contacts (and courts!), told I cannot be dealt with direct (when passed from a colleague), minimal information provided and basically fobbed off. Absolutely disgraceful service when all I require is a copy of an electronic document for which I have provided all the information.

Difficult to find from railway station on foot. Telford a real motor town.

Demand court fees to be paid by a relatively short deadline (considering it’s taken 11 months to get a court date) but don’t provide any bank details or ways to pay or telephone number. Eventually find a phone number online and an email address. 5 attempts to call, no answer or get cut off. Finally sat on hold for 1hr 20 and got through to pay. The email I sent about paying still hasn’t been responded to ( over a month later and 2 weeks after the deadline).Same goes for sending evidence in, no address to send to so I’m going to have to drive there and hand deliver.Insane. I don’t think you could make the process any harder if you tried to.

No Web site, no contact telephone number details. If you need to pay a court fee you have to physically show up and pay them or write them a cheque, like you fell into a time warp and went back to the 80's

For what looks like a great building the inside is terrible. Steps to get in and not well signposted for ramps if disabled.No air conditioning, no vending machine to get a drink or snacks. No wifi, I was stuck here for 2hrs for a family court case and there is nothing to make the wait any less agonising.
