Expecting Antenatal Classes

As a first time mum these classes were absolutely invaluable to me and my husband. We found the classes provided us with the know how of how to plan for labour, encouraged my husband to be my advocate right through to nappy changes and washes.Gem has been a huge support for me in the latter stages of my pregnancy and into the early weeks of motherhood and I don’t doubt she will be there is I need her in the future. She is so knowledgable and her time in the NHS as a midwife really shows in everything she does in the groups.Not only has Gem given us the knowledge to make the early weeks of parenthood that little easier she has bought new friends into my life, which when you’re stuck is such a huge help in being able to offload, be supported and share ideas with each other. I would honestly recommend these groups to any parents-to-be! Gem you’re amazing! X

So pleased that we signed up to these classes. Found them really useful but also enjoyable. It was a really lovely opportunity to meet couples who were also about to become new parents. Gemma is fab and goes out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable and get the most out of the sessions. Would highly recommend

I would highly recommend this class to any expectant parents, Gemma is amazing and as a practising midwife is able to pass on so much knowledge and up to date information, particularly on local hospitals and services that would be difficult to find elsewhere. The course was very relaxed and friendly and I’m so glad we made the decision to do it!

Really enjoyed the class. Very informative and covers all the main areas of labour and early days with a newborn. It was also lovely to meet other expecting parents in the local area.

Can't recommend this course highly enough. Not only for the structured course content which genuinely helped us so much, but for the extra support outside of classes too. I felt so much more prepared and empowered for labour as a first-timer based on knowledge from the classes that would never have occurred to me, but I also got to meet a fantastic bunch of people and I think we've all really enjoyed celebrating each of our arrivals and sharing our experiences/advice so far. Gemma has been a true legend and was ultimately the first person to know I was in labour after I reached out to her for advice when I couldn't get through to the hospital straight away. Her knowledge, help and support can't be underestimated!! Can't wait for the group reunion!

Really good classes, we had a great time and found them really useful. Gemma is an engaging teacher and enthusiastic, always happy to answer questions. It is so useful to have the benefit of a local midwife who can give you information relevant to your hospital and Trust. Thank you!

Great classes, can’t recommend highly enough. Really helped me deal with the pre-baby nerves!Gem was so helpful, always providing additional tips and advice…she answered all my questions so comprehensively (no matter how daft they were!), I felt that little bit more prepared to take on the exciting challenge ahead.Since we’ve had our little one, she’s been great at keeping everyone from the classes in touch and helped us to form a great little community of new parents.

We’d highly recommend the anti natal classes run by Gemma. They’re extremely informative and we both felt more prepared for the birth of our baby and how to meet their needs in the early days. The classes were invaluable and helped us to make informed choices. Gemma was a great source of support during and after our anti natal course and has been able to offer lots of reassurance. It’s nice being able to speak to other couples at a similar stage to yourself and I’ve been lucky to reconnect with a friend from years ago through the classes.
