The Walton Centre

My boyfriend is there right now. The quality of care is exceptional, the doctors and nurses are so polite and understanding, they also are very knowledgeable. My Krystian is in Caton ward, which almost feels like home.Minus for the guy in main reception, he has no idea what's going on and not helpful at all.

If I could give this Hospital and Consultant zero stars I would. Been attending this hospital for many years. Since being transferred to a Consultant appointments have been very random, now I am being ignored. I am left to suffer with the condition I was diagnosed with. The last time I saw the Consultant, he was rude, flippant in manner and to say the least very uncaring. I am praying for the day he retires, then things may improve. Centre of Excellence it is not.

Worst 5 days of my life. I went in on 12/10/23. To have bolts & screws put in my lower back.. before I went in I'd spoken to the hospital pharmacy and told him what meds I was on . But when I came out of a 10 hours surgery they gave me the wrong medicine so I was in horrible pain for 5 days.. and they gave me a medicine that I've never had before and I was halosanating but when I told the doctor he said if he didn't want to be in pain I'd have to take it. Even though I was of my head they still gave it to me.. very unprofessional service....

Long story short, I was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease 20 years ago (in the interim moved to Zurich) and have never needed any support whatsoever. Only recently have I needed to reach out (via email) and basically ignored by 2 Neurologists who are supposedly experts. Worst thing that happened to this place was Dr Ian Hart's passing, he was a exemplary professional!

I recently attended the Walton Centre (24-8-23) for Focused Ultrasound for Essential Tremor,. May I say that all the staff who cared for me where so so good. From the day staff on Jefferson Ward right through to the staff on Chavasse Ward, as I had to stay overnight. From Mr Farrah & his team of Doctors, to Jay & Debbie who cared for my every need (and who both gave me a great head shave, that was fun) and also Smiling Sarah the Pre Op nurse who videotaped before and after my procedure. All wonderful people. I know I will have the same experience when I return to have my other hand done, hopefully soon.God Bless the wonderful staff and God Bless OUR NHS

The real score that this centre and consultant deserve is minus 5. Everything was awful to say the least. Firstly, the appointment was repeatedly cancelled at short notice until we finally met the consultant after over a year from the initial referral date. Secondly, the consultant was an exemplary image of arrogance, carelessness rudeness and stupidity. She didn't look at the previous scan or at referral letter and didn't seem to care when I pointed this out to her. Rather, she'd already made up her mind about the diagnosis, which turned out to be incorrect after all. She wasn't in the mood to discuss any details. I hope to never see her again. She must have made life horrible for so many victims beforehand.

It's difficult to access this place. I seem to always be fobbed off. Their triage system for new patients is disgraceful. 3 referrals over 5 years and not one landed me with the right Neuro expert. This just kept leading to me waiting for them to investigate or poor GP to refer again. Sat with first Neuro Dr and after seeing him twice he said I'm the wrong man for you". Then we wrote over something really simple and obvious which I'd been seen for before. They had a consultant ring me who is unrelated to anything I needed. It was clear he was pretty miffed his time was wasted and mine. If the £160 per clinic visit is legit then this trust must lose a fortune

I have been home from Walton for 2 weeks after spinal surgery. From start to finish it was an experience l will never forget, the expertise from Mr Narendra Rath who performed my surgery has been without doubt nothing short of a miracle. I am walking upright for the first time in 3 years the nagging pain in my leg has disappeared and l take short walks every day. Mr Rath’s team on the day 9th August 2023 are without doubt the finest and kindest people who took care to explain and reassure me every step of the way. The Walton Centre renowned for their care is also a friendly happy environment for every patient. The care l received was first class, with attention to detail from the amazing Nursing Staff. l will always be grateful to everyone of you. Special thanks to Mr Rath you have changed my life l send you my very best wishes and thank you for taking time to call my husband after the surgery. Doreen Pennington

Dr Mennah Elwan. Can't begin to express how disappointed I am with the vile comments this individual has expressed. I don't know how she can be trusted to provide impartial NHS services. I hope the Walton centre take appropriate action.

I have just come home from The Walton Centre after a spinal operation. My experience while there, was incredible, from the care, to the meals, the friendliness of the staff, everything in fact.The nursing staff were so attentive and caring, nothing was too much trouble, and more importantly, they made time to listen despite being extremely busy.My consultant and the team supporting him made me feel at ease from the start, and regularly checked up on how I was doing.The small ward I was in was so friendly, it was lovely having other patients to talk to. It was also very clean, the support staff chatty, and the volunteers made me feel as if I mattered.The meals were second to none, delicious menus to choose from, and always piping hot, it was like a 5* hotel!Having been in a few hospitals for similar operations, if I was ever in a position to need care again, I would ask to come to the Walton Centre in a heartbeat.Thank you, everyone.
