I have been a customer of Chapellow's for years. This traditional timber yard is the ONLY place that I know that you can discuss your project with the owner, get a quotation and your goods delivered without hassle and on time. Having moved from York, I still visit for the occasional DYI as there are the only ones who will actually take the time to listen and deliver according to my specifications.

Unbelievably bad service. On arriving foul language in the office. On discussing my needs was advised a call would be made to give a price. Waited 2 weeks but approved go- ahead. After another 4 weeks called in and found my sample hadn't been touched..called in today ( 3months after 1st visit )and work not done and my sample was now missing. What a way to run a business.

I cannot agree with the reviewers above. I placed an order with this company over a month ago, as I hadn't heard from them I phoned them. They told me in an uncaring manner that they hadn't started it yet. The chap I spoke to didn't seem to care. I cancelled my order worth £640 to them. Lots of firms are struggling?
