Phoenix Van Hire

Couldn't be happier with the help and service from Phoenix. After being let down last minute by another company we were able to pick up a van within a couple of hours. Extremely helpful and friendly will definitely be returning in the future!

David quoted us a price knowing full well we were hiring the van from Friday 5pm to Saturday 8pm. The price was reasonable. He actually wrote on the booking form and all the paperwork the pick up and return time. The van was back for 7.15pm Saturday. Three days later I got a bill and a deduction of £15.40 had been made on my credit card for insurance for going over the length of time on the return ie exceeding 24 hours, there was no mention of this at the time of booking. There was also a deduction of another £20 for fuel which I accept is probably fair. What's not fair is the van had no brake lights and it shouldn't have been on the road, it was also filthy inside and battered on the exterior, although in fairness the engine pulled well. David checked the van over supposedly on return and although he noted the fuel, he conveniently didn't note the brake lights and state of the vehicle. I don't usually post bad reviews on the web but I think this one is very fair given the sate of the vehicle and the underhand dealings.

What a find!!! My car broke down on a Saturday morning and I needed to drive south that day......Initially went to the ‘big’ few.......completely no help! Googled local hire companies found Phoenix, extremely helpful, understood my predicament and even though they were just about to close they hung about until I got there. The hire process was easy and I was away with the van quickly. The van itself was perfect for what we needed. If you need to hire a van I recommend Phoenix I will definitely be using them again when I need a van. Just goes to show it pays to use local companies rather than the usual big hire companies. The process for hiring couldn’t be easier. Offers a flexible overnight lock up. Has opened early on a Sunday morning to accommodate for my morning delivery. Travelling during a worldwide pandemic is stressful and not easy. Phoenix Van Hire made it stress free and very easy ! We originally planned to hire a van to travel to France in April, but due to Covid-19 we couldn’t. We postponed our trip and changed bookings, and Phoenix were incredibly flexible and told us it was not an issue. We eventually rebooked for June, and David was very helpful and made the whole process extremely simple. The van we hired was perfect for our needs - moving all of my belongings from the South of France to the North of England. We can not fault the service nor the van we hired, and absolutely recommend Phoenix Van Hire for any of your future needs. We will definitely use them again. Thanks David !

This was the simplest and least stressful van hire I have every booked. Booking was a) straight forward over the phone, b) they let me use their lock up for overnight parking with c) no restriction in returning vehicle. d) the van was amazing, latest ford transit SWB which drove beautifully. e) David took the trouble to search for missing scarf I had left in cab and returned it . The price was not so important to me but after checking around it was no cheaper at other leading van hire companies. Will

So glad my friend recommended them, I have to post this because feedbackers are usually old moaners, but my old work van gave up the ghost on me the other Monday morning, they went through how they could help on the phone, and within an hour had collected me, and got me sorted with a great little van.
