ICE Helicopters

Been training in Robinson R66 with ICE Helicopters this last year. Even with bad weather and Covid 19 with their great team of instructors planning and organising my training I have recently gained my Private Pilots Licence. Amazing experience. Great instructors and fantastic facility. Looking forward to having plenty more flying with them. Highly recommended.

I've just reactivated my helicopter licence after 25 years of fixed wing flying. The team at ICE were excellent - friendly, professional, helpful and informative. They understood my background but didn't presume anything, but courteously and diligently put me through a thorough refresh and R44 type rating. I recommend them highly for both experienced (rusty) and novice alike. A great asset to the rotary training environment.

My experience with ICE Helicopters was great! I attended their intense week-long ground school so I could learn all my theory in preparation for my 9 exams. The teachers/instructors were brilliant, so knowledgable, the facilities were magnificent and everyone was so friendly!

After doing my EASA to CAA PPL conversion with ICE last year. I came back for some top-up training for an R44 and proficiency test. I come a long way to Elstree specifically because of the team here. I can highly recommend this school for PPL and more.

Friendly and customer focused team, always on hand to offer lots of support with all aspects of training. Very flexible facilities and a very high quality, professional feel about the new HQ.Have had a great time with ICE completing my PPL, and will certainly be hanging around for more ratings and private hire as my new hobby continues!

I had a great trial lesson experience with ICE Helicopters at Elstree. Excellent Fun, I cannot thank Neil and KP enough for their professional skills and super friendly nature in teaching me and keeping my wife happy on the ground! :-). Thoroughly recommend anyone to have a go, far better than a games machine any day!

I recently completed my initial helicopter training at ICE Helicopters and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The training centre is located in a picturesque area and the facilities are well-maintained and modern. The instructors are highly experienced and knowledgeable, and they made sure that I was well-prepared for my flights.I trained in an R22 Robinson Helicopter, which was in great condition and a joy to fly. My instructor, Ewen, was extremely patient and supportive, and made sure that I was comfortable with the controls and confident in my flying abilities. I also completed my Type Rating in an R44 Robinson Helicopter, which was a challenging but rewarding experience.The training program at ICE Helicopters is comprehensive and well-structured, with a focus on safety and precision. Ewen provided me with detailed feedback after each flight, which helped me to identify areas for improvement and work on my weaknesses.Overall, I would highly recommend ICE Helicopters to anyone who is interested in helicopter training. The quality of the instruction, the facilities, and the aircraft are all top-notch, and the experience was truly unforgettable. Big thanks to the full team!
