Ultimate Warbird Flights

We arrived early, so as to take in the atmosphere of this wonderful airfield (Sywell), and were greeted in the most friendly and helpful way. Indeed, the whole team here were extremely friendly and helpful and eager to help, chat and advise.Safety was at the forefront all the time but was briefed in a helpful and friendly manner. Every care was taken to ensure my comfort and enjoyment. The kit provided was in pristine condition. The flight itself was indescribably exciting and enjoyable. The pilot constantly confirmed that I was feeling OK, and gave opportunities for hands on controls and aerobatics. I felt safe throughout and enjoyed an UNBELIEVABLE EXPERIENCE from start to finish THANK YOU.

My bucket list has just got shorter! The whole experience exceeded my expectations and was a flight of a lifetime. I was flying in the Spitfire for many reasons but mainly in memory of my late father who learned to fly at Sywell in 1952 and had many happy memories there. For many years we lived on a small farm directly next to the airfield and I have always wanted to go back and fly over it again. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special by both the ground crew and Ben the pilot. Amanda and Sarah were there to brief me and to provide me with the necessary flying suit etc. Tom was tasked with getting me into the cockpit (with parachute) and ensuring I was happy with what the flight would entail and what was expected of me. Ben was amazing and I suspect he didn't realise just how nervous I was when he was talking me through the flight. The flight itself was totally surreal and something I have dreamt of doing since watching the Battle of Britain film being (partly) made on this airfield in the 1960's. Being able to take the controls of a Spitfire has got to be one of the biggest thrills I've ever had in my life. So confident was I in Ben's skills that I agreed to let him do some aerobatics and I can honestly say it was a brilliant experience. In my 62 years I have never even been on a rollercoaster so this was a big deal for me! In case anyone is wondering - no I didn't use the sick bag! It was a truly unforgettable day and I have to say a massive thank you to the entire team at Ultimate Warbirds.

What an an amazing experiance.The flight in the special P-51D met all my expections, following a previous flight in a MK 9 Spitfire. The pilot was great explaining all details of flight and the P-51D build and controls. Having the experiance of taking over the control of this responsive aircraft and undertaking acrobatics made the flight even more special.The support team were amazing making me feel a special customer. I had the experience of a lifetime with the team at Sywell Aerodrome on Friday. Amanda, Tom and Nick did all they could to make it a memorable day, and Nick’s clear instructions in the cockpit made for a brilliant flight in a WWII legend. There is nothing quite like powering into the sky sitting behind the legendary Rolls Royce Merlin, and I was amazed at how stable and responsive the Spitfire is. I had around 20-25 minutes at the controls myself, before Nick gave us a few minutes of aerobatics to finish off a truly memorable flight in beautifully clear sunny skies. In April 2023, I booked a flight in Grace, a MkIX Spitfire, for September 2023. All contact with this company has been efficient, friendly and professional. I received comprehensive briefing notes and safety procedures shortly after making the booking so that I could familiarise myself at the outset with all appropriate actions to be taken on the day of flight. Fast forward to September. On arrival at Sywell, I received a warm and friendly welcome from the team consisting of Sarah, John and pilot Edward. After my weight and chest size were taken I was fitted with overalls, gloves, and helmet. There followed a short video presentation of the flight briefing. I was then accompanied to the aircraft, where I was fitted with parachute, and safely strapped in. Edward kept me fully informed of where we were heading, and regularly checked that I was feeling okay. It was a joy and a privilege to be given the chance on several occasions to take control of the aircraft and discover that it was so finely balanced, and then to experience some aerobatic manoeuvres. I have to say that it was the most exhilarating and thrilling ride of my life and the memory will stay with me forever. After landing, Sarah and John were alongside to meet us and to assist me in vacating the aircraft. Edward joined us as soon as he had vacated the cockpit and then I was given the opportunity to have some photographs taken of us all together before my journey home. I cannot praise the friendliness and professionalism of this company any more highly.

The set up is very professional and all the staff could not be more friendly. Personally I have a great flight with Ben as I had a chance to fly the spitfire and we then we did some fun aerobatics, barrel rolls, victory roll and a full loop. Great experience and highly recommended

What a wonderful and fulfilling experience I had yesterday with Ultimate Warbird Flights. It was a lifelong dream, now realised although it will still take several days to sink in and become more of a reality than a dream. An absolutely brilliant day! I flew in the Grace Spitfire and my brother went up in the Mustang. We flew alongside and did a dog fight. Both pilots (Ben in the Spitfire and Nick in the Mustang) did a great job. We then split and I took control for some basic manoeuvres, before a barrel roll and loop by Ben. The noise, smell and vibrations- pure magic!I would thoroughly recommend Ultimate Warbird Flights. A day I will always remember! Fantastic!

My day at Ultimate Warbird Flights was a day I will never forget. I was made very welcome, everything was explained, I felt very safe and looked after. I met the pilots who were very experienced and ground staff. My pilot had been a Red Arrows pilot - wow!! I felt very special and it was an honor and a privilege to fly in such an iconic aircraft. I loved every second. As we flew the skies, my thoughts were also with the young men who flew those aircraft in the war especially when the German aircraft flew next to us so close. It was all an amazing experience. Once in a lifetime - thank you.
