I have been a patient at this dental practise for years and it’s recently gone down hill. I was made to feel so awful I burst into tears on two separate occasions due to a service I have been receiving for years on the nhs now only being available at this practise privately meaning I would have to pay over £200 due to their greediness, which I cannot afford, which means my teeth will deteriorate unless I find a new dentist that still provides this treatment, they are rude and spoke down to me, when I burst into tears I was not even offered a tissue even though they were right next to the dentist, I asked him his name, he said he’s name is Major (avoid at all costs) he made me feel worthless and embarrassed for asking about a treatment I had been receiving for years, he then said he would clean my teeth as a “gesture of goodwill” and hurt my gums by scraping my teeth so hard and wasn’t even using the correct tools to do so. I am so disgusted with the service I have received that I will be looking for a new dentist for me and my children and would not recommend it to anyone, if I could give this practise 0 stars, I would and I will also be seeking legal advice regarding how I was treated on the two separate occasions. Disgusting and appalling service.

Terrible service, awful waiting time even after booking an appointment and very unprofessional. The dentist cancelled my appointment, which was a month after the booking date and then gave me another date after 1 month, effectively holding on to the deposit paid at the time of booking for a good 3 months. Very good for the business cashflow but awful from a customer's perspective. The dental service is below average and waiting times, even after booking an appointment, is close to an hour, depending on your luck. Very unprofessional how the dentist does not value customer's time. Will try to upsell a filing or something - very hard to trust a dentist who does that. If you are on free NHS dental treatment, the service is even worst as experienced by one of my family members - If you want better service you may be better off paying, even if you qualify for free NHS. You'd be lucky if you are seen for more than 15 mins if you qualify for free service.

Been for a check up today knowing I had a broken tooth at the back. All the dentist did was shave off the sharp edges then gave me a price list of private fillings which I made clear I didn’t want. I just wanted a normal Filling or for it to be removed. He kept saying that if I paid cash it would be cheaper. I was waiting over an hour for my appointment, the private customers all went first. And then when I complained I was suddenly next in line. Would get a better service in prison! Avoid at all costs.

When NHS services were unavailable (local dentist and 111 included) and I had a raging tooth abscess, north heath saw me the same day. On the day they provided me with antibiotics and painkillers, then a week later took the tooth out with no pain whatsoever, all for not much more than NHS money. I'm grateful for the speedy appointments and will return if I ever need emergency treatment

Sorry for the long review… but feel I need to say this…..Very poor appointment system …. And for me not value for money!1. Appointments - twice at very short notice the dental practice informed me of the change…. When I was in pain and I had arranged time off work!!! The second occasion I was informed the next availability would be 4 weeks time…. This is unacceptable.2. Serivce - On the first occasion I gave the benefit of doubt and accepted the new date. When I attended, due to unforeseen circumstances the dental practice had a leak that day, which I accept it’s no one’s fault but it’s dangerous and a health and safety issue. I waited over 1 hour to get seen - in that time I was not informed of the delay.  I had to approach the receptionist rather than other way! No empathy was shown!3. Cost …. Only went to this dentist for two fillings! You want to trust your dentist …. The assessment according to the dentist was for two fillings, root canal, a tooth extraction and crowns. It was stressed by the dentist they can not do this work on the NHS …. So I have no choice but to go private…. knowing how difficult it is to find a dentist and take you on …. I agreed and paid a deposit for the treatment. This practice was going to charge £4000 first until I objected. Then it was reduced to £2000! I was informed they are doing me a favour! …. As the tooth extraction and crowns… we’re not urgent… leaving the treatment for the main areas…. ! How is this “doing me a favour “ …. Why was the latter price not given first …. I felt they were trying to sell rather than treat and add extras which are not required short term… I would question this dental practice on their ethics.4. There seems to be a pattern occurring which I felt is not acceptable, good customer service or helped in building trust …. due to the delays and cost I asked for a refund - which was paid back in a reason time …thank you ….5. Shocking…. I went to another practice due to the pain…. and they did the fillings and canal treatment for £308 on the NHS! And said in the long term I will only require 1 crown…. E but its not urgent. The dentist did not try selling tactics. I definitely felt I can trust the new dentist I found!

I have been using this practice for 50 years, as have most of my family, I called today (17/07/23) and was expected to pay in advance for a check up four weeks ahead, I feel that is quite insulting given my loyalty to this practice, I have spent thousands having work done, and last few visits I have been told if I want a poor job done its NHS, if I want the job done properly I will have to pay, I am now seeking a new dentist.

If I could give zero I would.Up until recently I have received a good service with this dentist. The stands have clearly dropped.I telephoned to book my daughter an appointment, she wasn’t registered at the dentist, fair enough. I have been for several years, I was told that as I have not seen the dentist for two years I am no longer registered but still on the system. The man who answered the phone was rude and defensive from the beginning of the call.I asked if it was possible to register my daughter and book her an appointment or should I call and register with another dentist as it wasn’t clear. His response ‘if you want to go with another dentist go ahead’ (I am paraphrasing because I can’t remember his exact words).I am absolutely appalled at the receptionist telephone manner and will be registering at at different practice because if this is how their front of house service is, dread to think what goes on once you get in the chair.
