I recently worked here and just got fired and I thought I should share my terrible experience and how unfairly I was treated.First and foremost, I found their management style to be excessively strict and unreasonably demanding. Their approach to handling employees created an unpleasant working environment that affected both my morale and productivity. Their micromanagement and harsh treatment of the staff were detrimental to our overall well-being.Additionally, there was a recurring problem concerning tips. I felt that our hard-earned tips were unjustly withheld and taken by the owners themselves. This practice not only undermined my motivation but also contravened the principles of fairness and transparency that should be upheld in any workplace.Moreover, I was deeply troubled by their attempts to manipulate employee feedback. When they fired me , they withhold my wages and refused to pay me unless I apologised to one of the owners about telling the truth when she took our tips to which one of them turned up at my house without being invited over which I considered an abuse of their power as employers. I went in to beg for my money as I am a student and cannot afford to miss out on it and he then made up a lie trying to frame me for stealing in order to look better to his customers however they have many cameras around the store which would have captured it happening if it was true so when I asked for him to show me the proof he became stiff to which he denied having any proof.These issues collectively made my employment experience at Love Brownies extremely distressing and untenable. I believe that it is crucial for such behavior to be thoroughly investigated and addressed to ensure that no other employees have to endure a similar ordeal.Response to owner - I am glad you replied in such an aggressive way as your customer can see what type of people you guys are. I only had one other job a year ago to which I moved city’s and not been fired, so making up lies cannot help you guys look any better as I have proof of all you put us through and have customer witnesses that have seen it happen. Stealing but no proof on your cameras? How bizarre and funny. I’m sure your customers will not be happy to hear a 40 year old man just turns up to his 19 year olds employee house uninvited. Taking advantage of your title over me as a powerless teen. Disappointed.

Overall could have been a lot better. Had the chicken soup, it was just straight out of a tin, they could have at least have bought something better at the local supermarket.The brownies are very nice but also extremely small! See picture.Service was also very very slow.

We had their vegan and gluten free brownies, a salad, and a smoothie. Their treats are allergy friendly, but there are not a lot of allergy friendly foods. Still a good find!

My favourite place!! Any excuse to go to this lovely cafe. Incredible gluten-free brownies (they’re so good warmed up, with ice cream) definitely best hot chocolate in town, as well as brilliant milkshakes. Great atmosphere, lovely/helpful staff. If you’re in Canterbury and fancy a coffee and a brownie, this is the place to go!!

My 65 year old dad had a frustrating experience here today (29/8)He's a postman in the Canterbury High Street, and the postman for this establishment, after delivering their mail, he quickly used their toilet as he has recently had surgery and the desperate need to use a toilet can come about very quickly. For this reason he has a card, provided to him by 'The Urology Foundation' that asks premises if they can use the facilities due to a medical condition.Upon exiting the toilet, a member of staff abruptly informed him that the toilet is for customers only. And refused to acknowledge that he has a condition that makes him desperately need the loo, or even respect the fact that he is their postman. And postpeople don't generally have places to go to the bathroom on their duties.Whilst I respect businesses trying to keep toilets to customers only as you don't want people in and out just using the toilet, there are certain circumstances where common sense and common decency should come into play and this rule should be waived.

We visited here today with family. Will definitely will be returning. The staff were friendly and helpful, environment was bright and welcoming. My son can find things overwhelming but he seemed really comfortable here and loved the cushions.

Worst breakfast I have had in a long staff. Ate beast as was hungry gry before the end beans were stone cold. Unhelpful young staff. Who wanted to charge for 2 pounds to reorder fresh beans. Very disappointed. Unprofessional staff!

I also used to work here, however I had to quit as between uni, a second job and this workplace it was too stressful to continue.I would constantly feel criticised through ever changing rules with a lack of communication between managers. This lack of communication made it feel as if we were never doing anything right. With mistakes being constantly pointed out and no positive comments ever being made.Furthermore, I would receive unnecessary of office hour calls (as late as 9pm) to point out mistakes I'd made in the day.This negatively impacted the employee well-being in addition to it feeling incredibly hypocritical.The minimal tips we would receive by customers were frequently taken away to settle the till or for the owners own pocket. As I was getting paid marginally above minimum wage, this felt unnecessary and unfair. Especially as I was paid lower than other employees despite having been there longer and being more qualified.Whilst the coffee and drinks aren't bad, I wouldn't want to be the one making it and having to work in that environment again.

This place is wildly overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. The portions are very small and the manager has a poor attitude. It only has 1 highchair too so please bare that in mind. Save your money and go elsewhere!
