Big5Removals( now GetMyVan)

Let me start by saying by the time I found George from Big 5, I was fraught! Due to move from London to York, we had just been abandoned by TWO successive big national removal companies ON THE MORNING OF THE MOVE. The van booked and paid for, simply did not arrive. And the second company, who we secured at the last minute to rescue us, also failed to materialise. Bank holiday weekend administrative error, apparently. The new people who were replacing us were ready to move in, we were stranded with all our treasures boxed up, some of which were already pavement side. Waiting for the phantom van! It wasn't a moving day scenario anyone desires or anticipates. There were quite a few tears and a little hysteria too. Enter, George. So calm. So professional. So hero! He secured us a local van driver, and knowing just how cash strapped we were (thanks Corona), he negotiated and hustled the best deal he could. It didn't feel like a business transaction. I felt like my dad had stepped in and was taking care of business. He stayed in touch with us throughout the whole process, and after the callous treatment from the big national companies, every dealing every conversation with George, was a tonic. He is empathy personified. I have since used George's services again, and will continue to do so. Thank you for coming through George, you are a good man and we appreciate you. Kate.

Great experience. George was very professional and capable. We were moved within just a couple of hours. They had everything needed to strap down and secure our stuff. We actually booked a truck that was much too large but they made it work for us!We were moving out of a flat on the fifth floor with just a narrow staircase but it all went very smoothly. We got really good service from George and his team. They were highly efficient, and even went out of their way to help us dismantle some of our furniture. Our move is temporary, and will be using George again for our move back to our flat. We would definitely recommend!

We had a great moving experience with Big 5 Removals. It was 10 hours of hard graft but not a single complaint - more importantly just downright helpful. Hard-working, conscientious and careful. Not a single broken item - George was no doubt a Tetris-pro... never thought he would get as much as he did into one load, amazing! Highly recommend.

15th August 2016 - London to Bedford move: Excellent service. Our flat was 5 flights of stairs without a lift and we had problems with getting access to our new property once we arrived but George and the team were great - got on with the job and were very professional. Great communication before our move and on the day. Couldn't ask for anything more from them. They made a stressful day a lot more bearable!

George was absolutely amazing while helping us with the move. Punctual, hard working and very fair with pricing (we had some overtime due to high traffic/events in central London). Provided his own sheets & straps to protect and lock our furniture in place. I would recommend using his services to anyone!
