Thank you so very much Libby and Tam, I had a great time. I am very pleased with the footstool. You were both very patient and helpful. The food was delicious and it was lovely to meet the other students. I would recommend this course it was great value for money as we got to bring home our beautiful footstool that was made of high quality materials and to very high standards following your expert guidance. I do hope to return soon for 1 to 1 support with future projects. I wish you both luck and success as you work so hard. A great way to spend the weekend learning new skills.

Just come back from a weekend footstool course with Libby. Can’t recommend highly enough! There were 6 of us, all novices & we learnt the basic skills needed to progress on to other projects too. Libby is so lovely, very patient & supportive in her coaching, the lunch was great, plenty of hot tea supplied throughout the 2 days, what more could you want?!! Libby & her business partner are clearly very passionate about the quality of the teaching & the quality of the upholstery projects they do for customers.

Superb job transforming an old drop-end sofa into an elegant piece of furniture. Despite the challenges of lock-down, communication was always timely. The quality of work was outstanding and I would not hesitate to use Perkins and Gibbs again or recommend them to anyone. A pleasure to deal with.

My introduction to Libby and Tam was through the weekend footstool course, the atmosphere was very relaxing, Libby was a very knowledgeable and engaging tutor, and luckly for me, right on my doorstep.Me and my two 'G plan' chairs still continue to develop my skill through their upholstery club.I cannot recommend Libby and Tam enough for the work they produce as professional upholsterers and the enjoyment and patience they bring to the tutoring sessions.Love itThank you both, Jan

I had a lovely weekend doing the two day footstool course. Tam and Libby were very knowledgable and patient and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. The workshop was a perfect balance between informational, challenging, and fun. Great food and atmosphere as well. I hope to be back soon and complete another course!

I had such a great weekend with Perkins & Gibbs, doing the 2-day Footstool course.Libby & Tam, are super friendly & organised, so the course went without a hitch. The rustic workshop, and picturesque countryside around it, is inspiring - i challenge anyone to come here for a weekend and not consider quitting the rat-race to become an artisan craftsman/woman! We ate well, had lots of laughs and cups of tea (and jaffa cakes) and came away with a beautiful finished item. It really made me appreciate the craft of upholstery and it's obvious just how much care & attention these ladies put into theirs. I'd thoroughly recommend Perkins & Gibbs either for an upholstery job or their workshops, if you're interested in delving a bit deeper.

I love it here. I did the footstool course, loved it, and haven't left - finding new projects to bring to Upholstery Club. Libby and Tam are super friendly and Libby is a fantastic, patient and encouraging teacher. Its as much fun as it is an education!

My daughter bought me, as a gift, the two day Footstool Creation weekend. This is the first upholstery course that I have taken. I highly recommend taking this enjoyable but serious crafting course. All stages of upholstering the stool were done by traditional methods, with friendly one to one guidance on all skills and use of the tools. To add to the enjoyment, delicious home-made lunches were supplied, where we all sat down together for a relaxing half-way point in the day. I came away with a footstool that anyone, not just a beginner, would be proud of!

Absolutely loved the footstool course with Libby @ Perkins & Gibbs! Her teaching style is friendly and encouraging and her obvious love of her work shines through. I went home, bought the tools and made 4 more!! Libby and Tam are hugely knowledgable and really supportive, encouraging students to strive for the absolute best finished piece of furniture. Highly recommend them, not just as a place to learn but as upholsterers too!
