Had a great day with Darren on Sunday, having never fished before he was great at passing on his considerable knowledge in a friendly and clear way. I came away confident I could take myself off fishing and land as many as we caught on Sunday. I will be booking Darren again for follow up lessons.When we will get the big fish !!!

Had the most amazing day with Darren. I've been fishing since I was young but not as much as I'd like and wanted to get back into river fishing. After 8 hours with Darren I learned more than I could ever do could trawling the Internet. And I caught 3 quality barbel - the biggest just under 9lb. Darren is top bloke with a lifetime of fishing experience. A session with him is money well spent and I am already thinking about the next one!

Although an experienced angler I was new to pike fishing and had a day with Darren . He discussed and showed everything from deadbaiting to lure and jig fly fishing . Also covered fish care and handling , unhooking methods , tackle , bait suppliers , watercraft , rigs in fact everything really to get me up and running . His knowledge on angling is immense and he is very easy to get along with and explains everything well. His know how certainly picked the right day landing 6 pike close and in to double figures . I would highly recommend Darren whatever your level or experience you will gain something from the day . I am now enjoying my pike fishing to the full think I am going to love this winter ! Thanks again Darren and people give him a go you won't be disappointed .

My grandson and I had a great days tuition with Darren at Pool Bridge Farm Fishery yesterday. The session was primarily for Oliver who was very interested in learning more about angling skills and different fishing methods. Oliver, aged 9, thoroughly enjoyed the day and the way Darren communicated the fishing techniques both theoretically and practically. This was borne out by the quality of fish he caught. By the end of the day Oliver was more confident in handling the fish and catching them. I also picked up some very useful tips . We are looking forward to our next session with Darren around the skills in catching Pike. Great value for money.

Darren is an amazing fishing tutor and is extremely knowledgeable. My children learnt so much from him. He is patient and calm when teaching and offers support and praise specific to their individual needs. I highly recommend DS angling. My children now feel confident and keen to fish away from lessons and have found a new hobby that they enjoy and find interest in.

SYEVEN DYSON Had a great day out tench fishing with Darren last week. Really personable easy going chap who showed me through all the tackle, rigs etc to locate and catch these beautiful fish. To top it off we caught two fish over 7lb which really made the day. Would highly recommend booking Darrens services you wont be disappointed

We had a great evening with Darren at Pool Bridge Lakes, this was our first introduction to fishing and we were not dissapointed. Darren explained clearly what we were doing and encouraged my 9yr old son to take the rod and catch some fish, which he did very quickly. 100% recommend Darren to anyone looking to learn to fish or just to get started . Spent half a day with Darren at Westerly Lake in Wheldrake for a refresher session after a 40 year lay off from fishing. Lots of things have changed in those 40 years, mainly to do with tackle but as Darren pointed out, the fish are still the same. Wise words. We spent quite some time identifying where the fish were likely to be and it paid off as soon as we had bait in the water. We caught fish straight away while others around us weren't catching at all.Immediately after the session I went for a weekend's fishing at a North Yorkshire fishery and was able to put Darren's advice into practice. I had a brilliant weekend, caught loads of fish and even had other anglers asking me for tips.Will definitely be booking more sessions with Darren.And I did. Fished the Wharfe with Darren with the aim of catching some Barbel and Chub, two species I'd never caught previously. As ever Darren's knowledge of the water took us straight to where the fish were and with his expert coaching I was soon catching. It would have been easy to stick with one method but Darren took me through several different ways to catch on the river so that I'd be able to deal with different conditions in the future. Caught five Barbel and three Chub on the best day's fishing I've ever had.You'll get excellent value for money fishing with Darren. The lessons I learned on the river would have taken me years to discover on my own. Go fishing with Darren - you won't find a better coach.

We learnt so much off Darren Starkey. He spent lots of time with my son Max and I both collectively and individually explaining all the different aspects and techniques of pike fishing. Max talked about the day most of the way home!I would highly recommend Darren to anyone wanting a guided session with a knowledgeable and top guy.
