My Expedition Rocks Ltd

When going for your own climbing qualifications you have to find other instructors to shadow.I was lucky enough to shadow John Rocks of My Expedition Rocks a few years ago, and I've subsequently worked for him recently. Why? Because I saw first hand the fantastic way he was with the children, young adults and adults in his climbing clubs and home education sessions. I knew I wanted to gain more experience working with John to hopefully provide an ounce of the fun and professionalism he gives.If you're looking for an activity for your children, whether it's a taster, or going more regularly joining one of their clubs, you can't go wrong with My Expedition Rocks.

Rock climbing party for my sons 8th birthday was a great success. Both Joe's were very helpful and excellent keeping 8 children entertained. All participants thoroughly enjoyed the experience and a great alternative to more traditional birthday party options.Would definitely recommend/thanks

John was professional and engaging. We did a full day emergency first aid course with him at Sandmoor golf club in which I felt a lot of the information sank in and the time passed quickly, a testament to his teaching style.

John Rocks is a highly recommended, experienced and qualified provider of both indoor and outdoor climbing activities. I learned as lot from John in my time with him and those with whom he works. All helped me hugely on my climbing journey and I'm now an instructor too!

First go at SUP. Great trip through Foulridge canal tunnel and onto Barnoldswick along the Leeds and Liverpool canal.Well organised, full and clear pre-trip information. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to try something new knowing that you are in safe hands.

Me and my partner booked a learn to Trad course as a refresher, John was very patient and knowledgeable, he checked all our gear placements and offered great feedback of alternative gear to use and placements. We also wanted to gain experience with twin ropes which was great to understand how to climb and belay. Such a great session gaining more confidence and knowing we are climbing safely. Would highly recommend whether you're new to climbing or wanted to gain more knowledge and experience!

Extremely useful day ahead of my RCI assessment to consolidate the core technical skills. Was also a good opportunity to meet others, and learn new skills for my own personalpractice. I also thought extremely good value for a full day session.

Had a fabulous day a real experience especially going through the tunnel. Very well organised and luckily the weather was great too. I would recommend this to any starting out at SUP for experience on steady water to gain your confidence.

John was incredible, extremely knowledgeable and easy to get on with, having recently passed my RCI I wanted to start my journey of further knowledge, his thinking outside the box" course definitely did that

My children had an amazing day, came home buzzing and shattered! We've signed them up for a full course based on their experience. Would highly recommend.
