Well worth the trip if you're reasonably local. The tour of the mill is great and if you're lucky you'll actually see it making flour. The gardens are picturesque and there's also a tea room. Everything is made with flour from the mill. We had the quiche and the coffee cake...both were delicious.

Wonderful detailed tour with a lovely gentleman. They fit us in despite not pre booking. Tea room is quaint with lovely friendly staff and much cake. Gorgeous exterior views. Some uneven surfaces, lots of steps and places to hit your head, but we managed to see it all (elderly woman with arthritis and 38yo with severe ankle injury and tall). Would recommend. Young kids might find it a tad boring though.

I live close to this extremely attractive location. One its most endearing features is it honest simplicity. It is an extremely photogenic site with exceptional views of the nearby windmill. It has a very pleasant cafe/ tea room and you can spend several happy and informative hours here at a very reasonable cost. The grounds are open when the mill is open. Milling is carriedout on Thursday mornings every week between Easter and September. The mill is open also for visitors from 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays and every bank holiday Monday in the season. Flour is ground using the set of stones run from the water wheel. A guided tour is available and is highly informative. The content of the tour covers the method of milling, the difference between stone ground and white bread, the social importance of the mill in this location (1000 yrs), if you are fortunate the tour will close after about 45-50 minutes in the old Elizabethan kitchen where the visitor can explore the huge chimney, the traditionally heated brick oven , the brewing vat and the kitchen use linked with wash house facilities. I challenge anyone to not be satisfied by the friendly and knowledgeable approach of the volunteer staff. It is well worth the time available.

Really nice little tea room with lovely cakes/scones etc. Especially nice to have tea and cake out by the mill pond. The tour is very interesting and you can purchase the flour ground there.

A chance visit whilst on a circular walk today was rewarded by a fantastic stop at the mill and a brilliant tour provided by Ash.It's really interesting to see how the mill works now and the history surrounding it, a unique building that's well worth a tour around. There's a lovely little coffee shop with delicious cakes that is also worth a visit.

If you're into historical places, and into discovering more about life in Pre-Industrial England, this little watermill is a treasure. For starters, it's about as picturesque a building and location as you could wish for., great for photo opportunities. The tour also has much to recommend it, delving into the site's history back to the tenth century, and providing an excellent insight into how an old-style watermill actually functions through every step pf the process. And once you're done taking it all in, there's a tearoom next to the millpond, where you can relax with a cup of tea and a scone.

A fantastic place to visit! We learned about the history of the mill and was amazed to know the mill has been there 200 years and a mill of some sort has been there 900 years! The volunteers who ran it were helpful and friendly and knowledgeable. The kids enjoyed it too and some great food after the tour and walk along the mill pond
