We cannot speak more highly of her exceptional teaching ability and particular skills in enhancing exam technique.Emma was always consistent in her ability to teach English to a very high standard whilst motivating our child to thrive in the subject.This resulted in our child achieving five marks below the maximum grade 9 in their GCSE exam. Without Emma, I could never have achieved a grade 9 in both English literature and language. Before starting my tutoring, my grades were at 6’s and 7’s and I didn’t know what I could do better to improve them. But once Emma started tutoring me, I began to discover my strengths and weaknesses. She increased my confidence and is incredibly supportive and kind. She is an exceptional tutor and I am 100% positive that anyone who chooses her to tutor them, will definitely improve their grades and confidence in English.

My son had doubt about approaching a question while revising for his GCSE & after having lessons with Emma he improved in his language and literature. Emma Davis - the reason why I was awarded at Grade 8 at English Language.After the success of my sister achieving a Grade 8 in English language for her GCSEs during the Covid pandemic last year. My mum instantly knew that I should join Emma’s tutoring lessons and I’m so thankful she did. During year 10 (pre-covid), I was struggling in English was described as “slacking” by my English teacher and that I could only just about be projected a Grade 6 for my GCSEs. My mum was very disappointed as English is a very fundamental core subject. So after my sister’s successful English result, I began starting lesson with Emma because I had lost a lot of teaching time at school due to the pandemic and I was already struggling in English. I was worried as English is not a subject that you can revise for and that’s why I was anxious if I will be able to do well in my GCSEs. But Emma, in less than one year, helped me from being projected a grade 6 to a predicted 8. The same teacher who said I was “slacking” was impressed by my assessment piece for my GCSE portfolio which I attained 14/15 marks. Before starting Emma’s lessons, I was concerned because I couldn’t get my head around on how to answer the exam questions. However, Emma taught me the skills and techniques required to get the most marks. Every lesson I had with Emma, I progressed more and more every time, finally getting the grip of the skills and improving my work with Emma’s advice. She is the reason why I was able to get that A* this year. She was the reason why my sister got an A* last year. I’m so thankful that Emma has taught me for GCSE English Language.
