Talisman Books

Tucked away down High Lane Business Court (also known as Chocolate Street), is the hidden gem: Talisman Books. A veritable treasure trove for book enthusiasts. We visited on a Saturday and enjoyed looking at the array of books there. If you’re a fan of Stephen King you’ll certainly find a large selection here along with Terry Pratchett. The shelves were brimming with literary delights, and amid this bounty we found some lovely books to purchase including some first editions. The owner offered us a warm welcome, is friendly and didn’t mind us having a good root through and a chat. We look forward to visiting again or perhaps seeing him at one the Buxton Book fairs.

Lovely book shop and owner is very knowledgeable. Me and my 16 year old son could have spent many more hours in there. So glad we found this hidden treasure.

Visited Talisman many times but not for a long time.Very friendly atmosphere from Jean, and owner Frank.Stephen King a speciality from what I recall.

Talisman is a proper bookshop, the type where the books are stacked high and you can smell them when you walk in. There's always a great and changing selection, good prices too.

Amazing book shop, especially for avid Stephen king readers. Frank knows everything there is to know about the master of horror. Myself and my daughter love this place
