London Contemporary School of Piano

I started with a group course duringLockdown and was instantly hooked. I teach piano and this the London School or Contemporary Piano has shown me an entirely different way to approach my own playing and that of my pupils. I don’t see to play the piano because I could but I didn’t get the enjoyment out of it that I’m now getting. I no longer sit down to the piano to ‘practice’ but because I have a composition to work on, a new chord progression to try out or a track I’ve just heard and want to try playing from ear. I can’t recommend the school more highly.

Google search lead us to london contemporary school of piano. It was the best thing to happen in my son’s musical journey. We have been using their services for the last 4-5 years, they are the best when it comes to teaching. Tom Donald has become a personal friend who has lead my son to achieve the highest commendation in trinity exams. Their team of coaches Alberto, siwan and others have moulded his musical talent to its best version.Cannot thank them enough. Please keep up the good work. Would highly recommend them.

I’m loving this course. I’m an adult virtual student as I live in Devon. I suspect it’s the best investment I’ve ever made musically. After a lot of false or lukewarm starts on various instruments, I can’t believe my luck having stumbled upon Tom, this team and this method. I played out of my skin during the blues masterclass on Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed it, left hand certainly felt it!

This school is truly amazing. I am not the easiest person to teach, I am impatient, get bored/distracted easily and am not very focused but with their flexible approach to teaching styles and techniques I am now (within a year or so and only 1-2 lessons a month) a competent piano player, who practices most days!! My lessons are truly tailored to my specific needs. I am using the piano now as a tool also to write songs, though I have been doing this for years without piano, my musicality has been elevated by my new skills. So not only did they figure out how to teach me effectively but I've also learned to be more disciplined. Tom Donald is a true maestro - but each of the staff at the school are absolute experts in their field, and beyond, plus they are just genuinely all lovely people. I am so happy that I will be working with them as an Artist in Residence in 2021!

I had always wanted to learn the piano but thought I'd left it too late now in my early sixties and with acquired learning difficulties after several strokes. I accepted in advance I wouldn't get past lesson three! I am now halfway through my second course and booked for a third. I have undertaken one to one lessons with the very talented and supremely patient Jack Marshall. Currently, I'm halfway through a comprehensive group course, lead by the inspiring Tom Donald, who somehow does magic and makes even the hard bits fun. I love the enthusiastic and easy-going atmosphere that threads throughout the school.

I highly recommend the LCSP . To me is the best school of piano in the UK and you can learn from all over the world. Their online platform is nothing but amazing!. If you are passionate about music this is definitely the school for you. I always had a dream of learning piano but somehow I didn't have an opportunity while young. As an adult, I tried traditional methods but they didn't work as I would need years of practice to reach any acceptable level of playing that would make me enjoy it, so I kept giving up. Until I discovered LCSP. Within my first lesson I was already playing let it be from Beatles and Imagine and I had no piano experience before. This is how fast you can learn! The Harmony method help me learn so much faster and I learned tricks to be able to sight read quick too (something I couldn't even do before). The piano teachers are the best you can get, some award winning. I have been in the school for 3 years now, with one to one lessons. I do about 15 lessons a year (so not that many) and I have done a few intensive courses with Tom Donald too(the most amazing musician and teacher! I have learned so much from him!). I can now play Ludovico Einaudi songs, other classical pieces and a huge range of pop songs. I even help my daughter with her sight reading now with all the tricks I have learned at the school. But it doesn't finish here! If you are a member of the school you have access to a huge range of practical seminars, online resources to learn in your own time and improve your technique! They have a fantastic community too! And they teach all genres of music too! I cannot recommend highly enough this school of piano!

This is a world class piano school. I live in Melbourne and it's fabulous to be able to have online lessons with amazing coaches in London. I wanted to improve my piano playing skills and Tom and Siwan have helped me to do this. I haven't just met my goals, I've exceeded them in a short space of time. My technique has improved immensely and I've acquired new skills such as improvisation and playing from lead sheets. The team are so friendly and encouraging and it's a pleasure to work with them.

I enjoy learning with LCSP since the first lesson. I like different approach to teaching comparing to classic music school, which is so much more approachable and fun. I feel like I learnt much more in just a few months comparing to 4 years I spent in music school in my youth. Definitely recommend to anyone who's looking piano teacher, no matter at what level you are!!

My recent weeks intense study with the London Contempory School of Piano was something I had been looking to do for some time. It wasn’t until I came across Tom Donald and his approach to teaching piano at all levels and the schools ability to adapt to my requirements that my wishes became reality.From the initial application then conversations through to securing me slots within their busy schedule and finally attending I can’t recommend the LCSP enough.Both my tutors displayed patience along with a willingness to listen to my needs arrange bespoke sessions and then demonstrate their utter professionalism and abilities throughout.I had been playing in one form or another for 50 years starting/stopping/changing instruments/styles but both Coalan and Manu could see a route to enable me to get back on track and get back into bands.I simply can’t thank all the team enough, I shall be arranging further courses with LCSP, despite the commute I’ll need to undertake.THANKYOU

I am so impressed with LCSP. From my initial interview to scheduling lessons to hearing the sounds of singing and playing when I enter the studio area, I have been delighted at every turn. Every member of the team has been professional and encouraging. When I stumbled upon LCSP and decided to take the plunge, I did not imagine that lessons could be so stimulating and enjoyable. As a retired elementary school teacher myself, I know how much preparation, patience and positive attitude is required to bring out the best in students. At all times, my teacher has exceeded my expectations: he respects the pace at which I learn, he locates material that I adore, he is endlessly patient as I hit the wrong keys and forget my place, and he is a delightful person to be around. Although I studied piano as a child, I am rusty and self-conscious. The LCSP methods have reintroduced me to the joy of playing. I walk out of every lesson with a spring in my step and a song in my heart. So cliche, but so very true.
